A friend sent me this lecture thinking I might enjoy it, he was right.

Music enthusiasts and especially those that appreciate Pink Floyd may also find this lecture educational and enlightening. Milton Mermikides of Gresham College (established 1597) does a great technical and artful examination of The Dark Side of the Moon. He gets into vocal mimicry, musical expectancy, quietly desperate chords, jazz influences, the rise of electronic music, madness and much more.

Life would be so bland if it weren't for brilliant musicians and for intellectuals like Mermikides that can connect dots that many of us would otherwise never connect.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.
