Ooh Ya Ya A Jazzy Blues inspired by a visit to New Orleans and a hole in the wall restaurant where the dish of the day was a delicious spicy Andouille Sausage concoction called Ooh Ya Ya. Sometimes simple is so much better. Lets all the instruments breathe. Very cool listen. All the instrumentation was perfectly played and tones were so full. Really nice production and mix..

Re: The Mystery of Creative Flow rharv 04/19/24 01:56 AM Forum: Off-Topic Jump to new postsJump to new posts
Flow happens, if I am performing and can't get to the 'Flow' aspect, it's a bad night. However, as mentioned, practice does indeed help make the 'Flow' possible, but to me that went without saying. A musician knows how to play their instrument (or 2 or 3 or 4) A musician getting into the 'Flow' was the article, and yes, it happens. You know the music well enough that you are not in the 'reading/thinking/computing' state of mind (learning), but more in the feel/groove state, which is always a much better place to be. Music flows out of you that you never would have anticipated sometimes.

Have you done the available updates for that version, or is it still the release version? Look for 2021 version updates here - https://www.pgmusic.com/support.realband.htm Also, trying the Edit- Audio Plugins- Gain Change plugin may help to get the track level back to where it is expected to be as a quick workaround, but I do not recall this issue happening even back in 2021

Re: Metronome is silent during count in but should not be Jeff Yankauer 04/19/24 12:27 AM Forum: PowerTracks Pro Audio Jump to new postsJump to new posts
Audible count-in is something that wasn't implemented when using Dxi/VSTi soft synths. That's because of the latency involved. During playback itself, the latency of the buffers can be taken into account when sending the metronome notes to the soft synth. I could try eventually having it implemented in the future, but I'm not sure if that would result in the count-in notes being slightly delayed and/or possibly the last count-in note being cut off when actual playback starts. It would really depend upon what buffer sizes are being used. Whenever I work on a song, I usually create a 2 bar lead-in (such as by generating RealDrums or filling a track with a drum pattern) which serves as the count-in if recording from the beginning, and if I need to record in the middle of the song I usually don't rely on the metronome count-in but just use the punch-in feature and start a bar or two before the punch-in point.

Confirmed. This was reported for BBW and affects RB as well if that plugin is used. I added a note to the bug report that it's still occurring in 2024. It appears the plugin is processing the audio properly, but the center LED meter just isn't working.

I enjoyed the part about triplets. PG Music has stated for YEARS that using triplets is how Band-in-a-Box switches from straight to swing feel. This video helped me to understand why.

Eddie, is this directed at me? If so, I am learning an instrument, actually more than one; view the Showcase for examples. I don't see any examples of you on the Showcase. Can you play an instrument? I'd be interested in hearing from veteran musicians that have experienced "flow" and how it aligns or doesn't align with this article.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
