If I have recorded 32 bars and the song is to play 3 chorus' the number of chorus are listed in the title bar. If I am recording and turn my head it is easy to lose track of which chorus is playing. Is there a counter in the program which shows the chorus playing?

I assume you are talking about RealBand here: You can insert markers anywhere in your song. The markers are inserted by hitting the "pencil" to the right of the green arrows.

Hey, you big ape, how's it goin?

I use the Notation View (hit the toolbar icon that looks like an 8th note) and let it scroll by as I record.

The Notation View will show the chords, bars and choruses as well as the Bar numbers as it scrolls by.

The pencil should be located about 7 buttons to the right of the "play" (green arrow) button in Real Band.

Hi,
In BiaB, the current chorus is shown in the fields where you set the beginning bar/number of bars/number of choruses, where it says 1/3,2/3,3/3 while the song is playing...bit small though, may be hard to read while performing...

Martijn, I am aware of the field you mentioned in your last reply. Muzic, wrote about a pencil feature in Real Band. I have just discovered that Real Band is not included in the Mac 2010 Ultra-Pak hard drive version, but it does include Real Tracks. The Windows version has Real Band included. If I am wrong I will stand corrected, but up to this point I have not located "Real Band" in the Mac 2010 Ultra-Pak version. In case you are wondering, I have the Ultra-Pak on Hard Disc.

So Muzic, I will not be able to locate the pencil you mentioned in your reply. In addition, I guess I was confused of the two terms: "Real Band" vs. "Real Tracks". The titles are close. I having Cubase 5 and Wave Lab resolves any major issue of not having "Real Band" would create. I guess?

RealBand is a PC-only program. Macintosh version users wouldn't receive that program.

Thanks again my old Trumpet playing friend. I kinda figured it out when I could not locate "Real Band" on the hard disk. Well, it didn't change anything. I still want to know if we could include on the wish list a "Chorus" count down indicator which will allow one to view the screen and see which turn around is presently is playing. This should obviously take place when there are for instance 32 bars and the song is to turn around let's say 4 times. What exist now is a fixed indicator showing how many chorus' have been chosen and should play before the song ends. What's your take on this?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
