Hi gang,
As I said in my first post i'm new here, hopefully there's no stupid questions, just stupid people...err, you know what I mean.
If you prefer to use all real tracks why do you need Biab then? wouldnt realband alone cut it?

If you like some variety and don't need any specific parts a lot of folks prefer BIAB. Each time you hit play the program will generate a slightly different arrangement. With RB the song will remain more static. You can have more tracks also in RB. My friend plays jazz guitar and only needs Bass, Piano, & Drums. BIAB is ideal as he likes the nuances.

Well, my answer is, "it all depends on what you wish to do."
If your "target" is only to create recordings, then perhaps you could get by with only RealBand.
If you have other goals as well, Songwriting, Fast sketchout of Demos, Live Performances in which you don't want the "static" same everytime playback of accompaniment that a sequencer would provide, PRACTICING your instrument along with a backup band, many music educational tutors, trainers and features, The MIDI harmonizer engine, The ability to have a generator open on top of your main DAW window and Drag and Drop whole songs or newly generated pieces of same into a recording project, plus a lot more just plain FUN, then you would want to also add Band in a Box to your lineup.
And, whatever the goal, it is a mistake to sell MIDI short. There are times when the use of MIDI along with your audio tracks can put a project over the top.

You could technically use only RB and be ok. I personally find both useful. To me, the programs are mates. What you should do is read the features of both and see what would best serve your needs. Good luck.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
