Could someone please post a link or tell me what is the difference between these? UltraPlus-Pak or Everything-Pak Thank you, Wayne, (a bit confused by all the pop-ups)

I have the everything pack but as far as I can tell is the Ultra pack is missing 2 of the soloists #12&13. Also you DO NOT get the Video tutorial packs & songs & lessons pack. Brian

Scrolling down the comparison page a little gives a nice chart that is easier to understand than the popups, as far as the basic differences.
The songs and lessons pak is nice if you use them.. I *think* that includes the fakebook, some ear-training and other goodies.. I have the everythingpak so it is hard to tell what is missing when it isn't missing!

So other than the Video Tutorials, the only real program stuff missing is soloists #12&13. Hmm. Still thinking. I have to give them a call. Thanks Brian and all, Wayne

Not sure about this, but I watched the new video and it showed a new feature that shows the actual scales for the chords. It mentions that this is good for learning improv. Oh yeah, without a doubt. Looks easier for me than memorizing all the modes, but I'm still in that learning mode (pun intended). Not sure if those scales are part of the learning segment of the package. I'm going for the Everything Pak.

How did they choose these scales, with what criteria? It's not like there is only ONE scale one can use with any given chord.

Sam, there appears to be a choice of two modes. Watch the video; it shows it pretty well toward the middle. http://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.new.htm

This feature is not a full scale syllabus, but should come in handy for the absolute noob at it.
I brought that up during the beta testing, would like to see more scale/mode options, perhaps that will happen in the future.

Just ordered my 2011 UltraPlusPAK... Let's see when it gets here! I haven't even explored all the changes from the 2010 version yet... there's sooo much there, but I don't want to miss anything just in case! LOL. In 2008 I bought the EverythingPAK so I have the usual suspects in there... I really like the JAZZ GUITAR SOLOS 1,2 3 & 4 sets... I keep that in a different directory as I don't want to overwrite it with each upgrade...

Those Jazz Guitar Solos whould not overwrite when installing a new version of BiaB.
For years I have just simply installed each new version into the same BB folder, right overtop. Have never lost a single song or previously purchased upgrade.
This is a wonderful thing about the BB installer that I've grown to love.

Thanks Mac. I was just wondering about that when I read your post. I'm glad that I don't have to copy/move a bunch of my own biab stuff to another drive or folder.

Yes!. I've been using those JGS 1-4 for years. It's got to be my favorite software of all time, as far as use goes. Sounds pretty good with the old Hypersonic softsynth. There's just a whole lotta guitar lines in there. NIce breezy stuff.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
