If I have all the RealTracks, is there any reason to keep the folder named C:\bb\RealTracks - Demos? It takes up 1.27 gigabytes that could be put to better use elsewhere.

You can delete it all. Might be better to delete just the wma files though. The songs are tiny.
You will lose the ability to demo songs and audition real tracks from the style picker and realtracks dialogs.

I guess it would depend upon whether or not your style of use includes the auditioning of RealStyles. Might be a keeper if that is important to your workflow.
However, now that BB2012 also has the "get from Web" demo button, if your machine is online, you could at least get a listen to the demosongs that way.
What you would be missing is the ability to examine how the pgmusic pros set up songs and do various things with the program, perusing those demo songs has provided quite a lot of lessons for me in that regard, just playiag them back while watching what has been implemented has opened new horizons.
Myself, I'd say that if your disk space is getting so tight that 1.27g is significant, likely the time is better spent in obtaining a larger hard drive...

Ah, I didn't realize that folder was used for auditioning as well.
Next question: If I move my RealTracks folder to a different drive, should I move the RealTracks - Demos folder as well?

No. Don't move the folder, or it won't be recognized.

...unless you set up a symbolic link to it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link tells you about symbolic links in general - because I'm using Windows XP on my laptop, I had to add the ability to use symbolic links using a piece of freeware called "junction.exe", but I understand that symbolic linkage is available as part of Windows Vista and later. What happens is that you move the contents of "C:\bb\RealTracks - Demos" somewhere else - say "F:\bb\RealTracks - Demos", and then tell Windows that any time an application asks for something from a file in "C:\bb\RealTracks - Demos" it should look on drive F. As far as as the application is concerned, the files are in their original place on drive C. I used this for the RealTracks themselves when I thought (wrongly, as it happens) that it might resolve a problem I was having with the generation of RealTracks. The method obviously has a wider application when you're running out of disc space for any application.

I'm not understanding why a third party software would even be needed for this.
If you move the RealTracks to another drive, simply visit the RealTracks Control Panel window inside BiaB and reassign where the program should look for them.

It's the "C:\bb\RealTracks - Demos" directory we're talking about here.
PG himself said that it shouldn't be moved, but I was pointing out a way in which it could be moved without BIAB being aware of it.
As documented in the thread "Frozen RealTracks silent when song file played on a different computer", I thought that the reason I was experiencing silent RealTracks might be that I had installed RealTracks on drive F, and my colleague's computer (the source of the malfunctioning BIAB files) had them on drive C.

Yes, symbolic links should work (I haven't tried that though).

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
