Dan
how did you determine the #9 ranking? Is that posted somewhere on the web site?

Go to the User List and double click on the Total Posts column. There is other interesting information there, too.

thanks! I've been to the user list recently, but I never noticed before that it's sortable by the headers. Unless you sort, the names that appear at the top of the list don't contain much information.

Things I find interesting:
The #1 poster (MAC) has more than twice as many posts as the #2 poster (russel)

the person who has accumulated the most posts in the shortest amount of time appears to be Noel, who joined less than 4 years ago but already has as many posts as people who have been here much longer. And his posts tend to be very helpful.

considering the questionable value I add to the forum, I have wayyy too high a post count. If you subtracted all but my helpful posts, I'd have maybe one. (note to self: "SHADDUP!")

Well, that was nice as long as it lasted...5501 and pushing on to catch up to Mac; maybe I'll need that elevator pass to skip a few floors.

Depends if you believe Al Gore or not. Also note that his wife was a censorship nut.... add however many grains of salt you want to anything Al or Tipper said.

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

LOOK OUT RUS! Rharv is passing you, and no doubt about it this time it is his fault, or maybe those model planes of yours.

That is still remarkable, because the above mentioned Wikpedia article says:

Quote:

The first edition Unix Programmer's Manual dated 3 November 1971 defines the Unix time as "the time since 00:00:00, January 1, 1971, measured in sixtieths of a second"

(First paragraph in Hisotry, last senctence)

According to this the forum administrator registered some 31,536,480 seconds at the Unix timestamp -1,892,188,800. Whatever the reason for this odd time may be, the fact itself is remarkable.

Just as remarkable as the inscription on a gravestone on the cemetery at Cluain Mhic Nóise (Clonmacnoise) that I happened to see in 1996 -- but unfortunately did not photograph -- where somebody has died on the 29th of February in 1949; just remarkable.

Uh-Oh..
Rharv just edged out Russel De Mussel for the #2 spot in "number of posts"

For once it's not Rharv's fault. Its Russel's fault for not posting in a while

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
