Number one reason a guitar string just won't get in tune - turning the wrong tuning peg!

I know! Do you think Fender puts them all in the same line just to screw with us?

I always had more trouble with my Les Paul pegs, what with the left and the right and all.....
I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.
1. How much did you make in 2023? 2. Send it to us.

If you can't automatically reach for the right tuning machine, you ain't been practicing your instrument enough.
Or at least you haven't been practicing properly...

What really usta burn my buns and frost me wee Oyrish crumpets was when the drummer would maliciously twist a peg on my bass then refuse to tell me which one.

Or your axe stays in tune better than most. My Larrivee acoustic rarely needs an adjust when I'm playing a set. In fact, I can't recall the last time I had to tune mid-set. My Strat, needs it more regularly.
My bass, on the other hand, needs tuning often. I play it at church about 2-4 times a month at church (2 times if I'm scheduled for one Sunday a month, 4 times if I'm scheduled twice) and the HVAC swings in temperature that we have on stage are probably 30 degrees F from early morning to mid-service. The bass doesn't like that and I have to tune at least 3 times during the morning. Once around 7:15 AM when we run through our set. Another time at about 8:55 right before the first service. Another time about 10:45 before the 2nd service. I'll even tune mid service before our final set in the service (which is usually just one song played twice).
When I play my Larrivee acoustic for the same, max number of tunings is 2, once when I arrive and maybe before 2nd service. Much less temp sensitive.
So, I think the 'practice' of tuning depends on the axe.

Scott,
My Strat was harder to keep in tune prolly cuza the springs in the tremolo lever and associated mechanism, although I had never pondered it until this minute. Maybe tuned'er once per gig. New strings gave me fits until they stretched out though.
That was a serious problem with Japanese copy-Strats, as I recall.

Whenever I play a clam, I just say, "I don't know what happened, it was in tune when I bought it."

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
