Wav files vs WMA files.... Will the wav files better be able to handle the time stretching when you move away from the default beat per minute?

I'd have to say yes, the higher quality samples should respond better to stretching. Still there isn't a lot of leeway. WSS

The Audiophile wav file edition is not meant to be a substitute that can expand the bpm stretch of a RealTrack. --And it really cannot do that, there are other factors that limit the stretching.

I've stretched PG wavs as well as MP3 and WMAs clips in another audio program and the wavs respond a lot better FWIW. You can't go too far past a few BPM with any but it seems to me the lesser two get screwy a lot sooner.

Well, there's more to this than just the audio quality, though the audio quality does play a part.
There is also the phrasing and note choice of the player involved, stretching that too far in either direction can lead to a nonmelodic hodgepodge of events IMO and that may be of more impact here. This also depends upon which particular instrument and type of track to a certain degree, too.

Hello evrybody, I can't find why I can't hear the voice recorded. Midi sounds are perfectly OK. The audio is not muted and I try all the combinations of the drivers. I also returned to the factory settings without any changes. I'm on that damn Vista with the last version of BB 2008.Till last week when I swiched off the computer I had no problems. Any one has an idea to redirect me somewhere? Thanks for your help.

In voice recording the input of the voice goes though either microphone or line in. Check those out side of band in a box. The meter should show you if you have a signal. Until you get a postive on the signal there is no sense recording.
A lot depends on how you set up your 'home studio'.

Hi Blisco
As John suggested have you checked the soundcard recording settings to see if Mic or Line-in (the one you are using) is selected and the volume is up jazzman

Thanks for your answers but the problem is not in recording. The meter is showing the signal when I record and when I play, so, the voice is recorded but I can't hear it neither alone when I select it in the audio track, nor together when I play it with the midi instruments. After some trys, I selected Asio instead of mme and the voice is clearly there. But in this case I can't record the voice cause the midi sounds goes in the audio track...

Check your soundcard's Record Protperties, sounds like it is set to Wav or What U Hear or the like and not to the mic or line input

Thank you Mac,but It's always the same: But with PowerT. everything is OK. Why is not working with BB if I choose the same drivers?

Two entirely different programs.
Try this:
Inside BIAB, under the Opts menu, select "Return to Factory Settings" and select the 2nd button choice there, that resests both the program and the soundcard drivers.

Can you hear RealTracks or RealDrums? After you try to record audio, if you open the Audio Edit window, do you see a black waveform there, or is the whole screen white?

Thank you Mac, I did it before without results. Now I choosed Asio instead of Mme. If I put the mic directly in the computer, Asio accept, but the voice is not strong enough. I'm trying to fix this last point and put the mic again in my Edirol unit.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
