All I know about the bible is what I've read in it.

Dear HappyTrails:

Unless you are merely trying to stir up trouble (a distinct possibility), I would suggest to you the following:

You cannot discuss, debate or educate these people. They are followers of "The faith." As soon as you begin to question or confront, you are immediately the recipient of biblical quotations, and if you persist, you are quickly called "ignorant," rapidly followed by the the accusation that you have not read "enough" bible.

At this point, the proper response is for you to meekly say, "Welll..., you have a point, I really haven't spent a lot of time with it (Inserting "Sir" here is optional), but I will now shut up and go read the bible a few times, and come back and discuss. Or maybe the Bible will cure me of my ignorance, and I won't have any more doubts."

If you say anything else, anything at all, you are quickly re-categorized from "ignorant" to being called a "swine" (immune to "pearls") and thus, ipso facto, subhuman, uneducable, and therefore, ineligible for entry into "heaven." Problem solved. Brilliant in its simplicity. "Purity of heart [and mind] is to will one thing."

As far as the need to stuff this nonsense repetitively in your face (aka known as "evangelism" or "ministry"), it seems to be a unique problem of Christianity, partly shared by other successful sadomasochistic cults based on shame and guilt, such as Islam. Of course, they all preach at you because they love you and want to share the bliss -- this is the position of all cults, successful or not. Older, successful religions, such as Hinduism, are able to practice their faith and rituals privately, within their own cult, with dignity and grace.

Now I am gonna go and read my bible... Or maybe I'll just eat some of these turnips and pond scum that the good farmer threw in my pen. Praise Heum!

Funny how Christianity and Islam are cults, but Hinduism is a religion ..

I'd say we are stepping in to the 'offensive' part of the posting rules, regordless of personal beliefs

So Ben says it is okay to characterize the believers in the faith as, what is it -- "sadomasochistic cults based on shame and guilt" -- but not okay for us to defend ourselves from the accusations and demonizations of others.

Got it.

All true religions are based on LOVE and their message is 'get along with each other and do your best not to upset anybody'

Not much different from this forum, to be honest..

When I was little, my old man told me not to believe everything i read. ( Of course, he was happy if I read the back of a cereal box) I've read the bible and, of course, I dont believe everything that's in there. Lots of 4th 5th 10th ect. hand stuff. However, the general message is all good, IMO . I also believe that catagorizing religion as "cults" isn't too far off the mark, in all candor. Not all cults are bad, however. Islam does seem to have some rather derogatory ( violent) references to non-believers. ( shivers) But I'm sure there are similar passages in the bible. My thing with religion is that so many millions of people have died because of it over the centuries. Think we can all agree on that. The fanatics give it a bad rep. Not all fanatics are bad, though. The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
