Greetings forum,

I am using a USB MIDI cable. I am wanting to transmit data to my harmonizer. How do I get RB to transmit MIDI data out. I know I have asked this question before but I cannot find the post. Sorry.

Oh, and can you hear the track being played at the same time it trasmitting MIDI out. I think that was the issue I had before. Thank you.

To hear the midi and send it out you would have to copy the track so you could assign each copy to a different port.

Ports are made available in the 'options-midi devices' area

Right click by the track name to assign the track to the chosen port

.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

rharv,

I am using the vst for midi. I cannot get it to separate any output. Either all goes to where I can hear it or all goes to midi out. I must be doing something wrong. I right click to choose the port but nothing happens. It is either all in or all out.

Options - midi devices : make sure the output port is enabled.

Uncheck the 'Reroute all midi to default DXi synth'

Assign each track to the port you desire, either the output or the default DXi by right-clicking and selecting the appropriate port.

Again, to hear the track AND also send it out you have to make a duplicate track so one can be sent to the harmonizer and one to the synth.

There we go. That makes sense. I had the 'reroute all midi to default DXI synth' checked. I will try that when I get home. I will copy the piano and/or other chord parts for my harmony. Thank you very much.

I need a similar solution for Band-In-A-Box, but I don't know that I can copy a track like that and assign it to another port. Real Band seems way more flexible in this regard.

BiaB can still only sdress one MIDI output at a time. Boo.

One can use a Virtual MIDI cable to route a channel to their physical MIDI output port, though. MIDIOX, Loopback, etc. websearch.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
