Ah, now I see: I couldn't find it because it wasn't there :-) But there's an "off the menu" option. Thanks.

Hi Peter,

An update in response to your direction. I had sent an email last week to the email link you had supplied. I still have not heard a response.

Even though I could have gotten the $99 DVD collection, I still think that the hard drive is a good deal, so I didn't mind having to spend the extra few dollars for that. Worth it in the end, I think.

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

I'm very happy with the HD drive, even happier about BIAB 2010. Works like a charm.

Cheers,

Slightly bummed (first time ever). I knew the year end Christmas gift to myself woudl be available any day from PG (always is this tiem of year). So I upgraded my DSL (at risk of losing my 14 year old email address - and still might) to get the fastest DSL I could where I live and was looking forward to downloading all the new Real Tracks and Real Drums and not taking 4-5 days to do it!

I ordered the Ultra Pak and when I got to the download page the HD note says – “The 80 gigabytes of RealTracks files included in your hard drive order are not available for download. However, you can download and use the main Band-in-a-Box program while waiting for your full Band-in-a-Box hard drive to arrive”

I don’t remember seeing anyone say that in any recent posts but there are a lot of recent posts so... In any case, looks like they are shipping HD’s fast so we’ll see

Lets install what I have and see what happens while I wait for new RT/RDs

I’m with you on this Andrew. Let me try and simplified this. I have biab 2009.5. I want to upgrade to the USB HD for $139. It comes pre-installed. Will I have to install the disks that came with 2009.5 or will they all be installed on the USB HD and I will not have to install older disks?

I'm pretty sure the whole shebang will be on your USB drive.

Because there would be no other way for it to run right out of the box from USB if it wasn't.

Just want to confirm:

I've used BIAB since the early DOS versions. The last version I installed (before this) was 8.5.

I purchased the Everything Plus Pak, and downloaded the files and installed. Today I got the hard drive. Can I erase my current installation as well as all the RealDrum and RealTracks files from my hard drive, or should I keep everything and just access the RD and RT files from the 160 gig drive?

Thanks!

You can do it either way, as it suits you, Russ.

Thanks, I did it keeping the hard drive installed and using the RealTracks and RealDrums from that, but leaving the program itself and all the other add-ons on my hard drive.

This may be dumb, but I have to ask - when I choose a RealTrack for a melody, I get a great solo - but not the melody. Is there any way to get a RealTrack instrument to play the melody?

Got my upgrade for the UltraPak on USB Drive yesterday and cannot believe I waited so long to go this route it is absolutely fantastic. I unpacked her and hooked it up to my Imac booted to WinXP and it ran flawlessly and was blazingly fast in loading all the realtracks and arranging the song, simply amazing. This morning I decided to try it with XP running in VMware Fusion on my Mac and there was no degradation in performance that I could perceive. So far I am thoroughly impressed with BIAB 2010 on the USB drive, great job Peter and crew.

I ordered 2010 a few days ago on disk drive. Is there any way I can download ONLYthe 2010 program now (I can wait for the realtracks and realdrums -they would take too long to download).

thanks

After the order you should have gotten a bunch of download links by email. If not, call and they'll send them. The first one probably contains just the program (and maybe some other stuff), but not the RTs and RDs, since the latter are named in the other links.

All that sounds great. I have been a customer since the floppy disk days.
I just ordered the 2010 on a hard drive. It lasted 3 days. Faulty disk.
I sent it back (with all the paperwork you require, tracking N° etc..)
I was promised a replacement in 3 business days. It's been over a week.
I just got off "live chat" with Will (friendly guy) and was informed that I should, "wait till tomorrow and get back to us"........
Now you know why illegal downloads are so popular.

I remember to put you on ignore for supporting illegal downloads over waiting a day.

Yeah, John ... I remember that too. On top of that, I see no purpose why tomko needs to share something PGMusic's outstanding customer service is already handling. Pointless, IMHO! Seems to me more like stirring the doo doo in the pot kind of post. One thing I do not like: pre-meditated negativity, which is clearly being displayed in the aforementioned post.

Cheers,
Mike

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
