There used to be threads, a while back, about the length of start-up time for BiaB.
There were suggestions about PC performance and the relative power of various PC configurations and all that.
But for many of us, from "click" to "ready" would often take up to 30 seconds or so.
This seemed to have been fixed in 2010 (or 2010.5, can't remember).
It was fantastic.
Start-up was almost instantaneous.
Now, with 2011, we seem to be back a little bit where we were before.
It's not as bad as it once was but not as great as it had become.
Hopefully this can be fixed again.

That wasn't immediaely after a Cold Boot, was it?

I've noticed that the first time I start BB2011 after a Reboot, it takes an interminably long amount of time to load - and the first time you see the familiar BB mainscreen, don't click anything, for it will flash away and reppear.

But after that, in the same Windows session with no reboot, BB loads a lot faster.

Exactly Mac. I forgot to mention that.

The behavior is different than it used to be.
The wait time used to be at the chord window.
Now the delay is when the logo flash screen is up.

Again, hopefully fixed with a future patch build.

Mine's quite slow too. Perhaps BIAB is running around try to get the "Real" musicians out of the poolroom or bar.

Band-in-a-Box® 2019 for Windows - Choosing to Run 64-bit or 32-bit

We heard you! With the release of Band-in-a-Box® 2019 for Windows we've included the BRAND NEW 64-bit version of Band-in-a-Box®, which works well with the latest plugins and 64-bit OS features! Because not everyone has a 64-bit computer, we include both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions with your purchase - you choose which one to use!

By default, when you install your Band-in-a-Box® 2019 for Windows the 32-bit version will run.

The steps to run the 64-bit version are simple! Just head to your "bb" folder and choose the "bbw64" icon - you'll notice that the Band-in-a-Box® "splash screen" will state "64-bit" as the program opens.
(and if you open the 32-bit version, the "splash screen" will state "32-bit")

Still not certain which version you're running? Within the program, go to Help | About Band-in-a-Box - it'll either state:

Band-in-a-Box® for Windows
Version 2019 (604)
<--- the number in brackets is the build number - this will change as new patch updates are released
64 bit application

or:

Band-in-a-Box® for Windows
Version 2019 (604)
<--- the number in brackets is the build number - this will change as new patch updates are released
32 bit application

We hope everyone who can is enjoying their Band-in-a-Box® 2019 64-bit version for Windows!
