When I clicked on lets say bar 28, there is this 28a (blue colour tag) and 28b (green colour tag). May I know what is this and how do I use it? Thanks.

Those are Part Markers.
Blue part marker plays Substyle A while Green forces the playing of Substyle B.
There will also be a Drum Fill forced in the bar preceeding any Part Marker.
Blue Part Markers are generally good for the first and last times through the chorus, while Green is good for the middle choruses where soloing etc. may take place. The B substyle may have a bit more of a walking bassline, etc. in it for that purpose.
Sometimes for Pop song work, the entire song is better kept in one Substyle, typically the A substyle.
The Help file and the BiaB FAQs contain more information on these. If you want to remove or change one, just keep clicking on it and it changes from Blue to Green to None.
Some styles are "Multi-Styles" and may contain more than just those two, indicated with differing colors as you toggle through them. Good idea to AUDITION each to see what it does and whether it works or not in your particular chosen song context.

What Mac posted above is basically what you get with a song using the repeats function if you have the option set to vary style in middle choruses. If you like that you don't have to use the part markers except where you want the drum fills. You can set that option either globally or per song.

To put it in the language of folks like me that are not musically sophisticated, but do basic songs. Let's say you have a typical pop or country song, and you have a four bar intro, and three verses, and after the second and third verses you will have a chorus then an ending. The bar markers should be the first bar of each verse and each chorus with maybe one for the ending, and maybe on for the intro. So as the intro ends and it goes into the first verse you get a drum fill. And as you go into the second verse another, then the same for the chorus and verses to follow. If you use the A part marker on the verses, and intro, and the B part marker on the choruses you will see that the chord structure and drum track a constructed to follow that pattern.
Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

Ditto. ALL of my songs are structured this way. Intro=Green Verse=Blue Chorus=Green Solo=Green Tag Line=Green. This gives you the drumfill before each part marker leading into the next section but more importantly the BLUE end up with HH & snare/sidestick & Green end up with Ride Cymbal & snare. Good dynamic feel for country or pop

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
