Hey, I liked "Lady in Red" and "Tubthumping." Didn't see a toxic entry from the early 70s called "Rub It In," though. One a those "can't-change-the-station-fast-enough" numbers.

None of these lists is complete without "My Sharona". Now go ahead and try to get it out of your head. See the damage this song caused?

There was another piece I had to suffer through one summer in Atlanta when I worked in an office with a bunch of young women. It played on an urban station about a thousand times an hour. All I remember is the "chorus," which went:
Woop woop woop woop Woop woop woop woop Woop woop woop woop Woop woop woop woop Woooooooo!
I have an extreme urge to commit violence when I hear it now.

Know the one Mario, I think we call it rhe birdy dance over here. Although The flower of Scotland is one of the most popular songs ever written in Scotland, I HATE it. Like you Mario we had to play it almost nightly Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Pictures come flooding back of tone deaf drunken teenies, trying to grab your microphones and sing the darn thing Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Do you mean the old early 60's hit, "The Clapping Song"?
Shirley Ellis -- The Clapping Song
If so, careful there, this Pop song was based on the kind of singsong recitals that young girls in the ghettos of the US used to accompany their rope jumping and was a tradition that goes all the way back to slavery and possibly before that.
But remember, I already said that I can't figure wasting time hating a song, any song. If you don't like it, don't listen to it, don't play it, but don't waste your precious time on hating a mere song or reoording, man...
I once asked a quite famous entertainer and musician, on the band bus between gigs, what his most hated recording was. He replied, "The last one of me that is released is *always* the one!" *grin*

I've always quite liked that one Matt, but I take your point. The middle section sounds like it comes from a completely different song for a start.

Hey Graham . . . I play that one when I play my children's gigs in various schools.
5 Little Monkeys sitting in a tree, telling Mr. Alligator you can get me Along came Mr. Alligator quite as can be, and he SNAPPED that monkey right out of the tree!
Well that is the South Louisiana version anyway.
Now try to get that one out of your head.
Later,
Edited portion: I think Mac pointed out the one you were speaking of.

Believe me Mac I NEVER listened to it. I always switched off if it came on the radio. I listened once right the way through. If a radio's on in a shop or supermarket, nothing much you can do but squirm. I listen to that first recording we made and squirm, it's horrid LOL

Graham,
You had better not turn on your TV as your most hated song has been used to build a VW commerical around.
Happy Clapping!

Dunno Mac, but “Matty tole Hatty, … ‘bout the thang she saw, … it got two big horns, … and a wooly dog!”.
......But we’ve got an eye witness, … and a description! LOL.
I love these old songs!

Aiee, the Chicken Dance. Worst thing is, I'm a big fan of the game Puzzle Quest 2 (a match-3 game in a fantasy-role-playing framework: the match-3 component is actually the combat and magic system, it's way cool), and one of their regular music loops is so reminiscent of the Chicken Dance that I have bad wedding flashbacks every time I battle a Troll....

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
