Looks like it combines the best of a thinline tele with a more traditional tele.

Can't tell country of origin and can't find it on G&L's website.

While the G&L Tribute Series guitars are made in Korea, their quality is still held to the same exacting standards as their USA counterparts. In fact, the pickups in these guitars are manufactured at G&L in Fullerton, California.

Thanks for the post as I am right now in the market for a Tele and this may just be a viable option. As soon as I can get someone at G&L to let me know if there is indeed a return policy on this model and the radius of the neck I will pull or not pull the trigger.

Thanks again!

I played my first G&L about 2 years ago and I have since then become an online dealer.I offer the skeptics the ability to order the guitar play it for 5 days if they are not happy return it for the full value no questions asked buyer pays return shipping. If they purchase a G&L Tribute and they want to upgrade to an American I will buy back the Tribute for 75% of the original cost that is what I think of the product .I just came From Namm 2013 show G&L were Best in Show.

Sounds to me its just like the PGMusic policy if you purchase from this place.

Putting a humbucker in the neck position seems like a good idea to me. I've always thought the neck pickup in the tele was it's weak link.

I couldn't find on the Hello music site if this was a tribute series guitar or not. It doesn't look like it's a current model from surfing the G&L Site.

Leo Fender thought it was a good idea also, back when he originally did it. Fender also was the first to do the semi hollow body Tele with one F hole, like the G&L Traditional seen here.

Of course, G&L was Fender also, when Leo was still with us, he founded the firm and the L is for Leo.

The 72 thinline is the only Fender Tele of interest to me. This G&L has a cool combo of the HB and a SC in the tail. My recent Epiphone Nighthawk Custom Reissue is all that I need for now. For quite a bit more money, Larrivée make a killer Tele copy in many different flavors but all with a belly cut and arm cut-traditionalists might not like that.

I ordered it from Hello music this morning but it was sold out . . . just wondering how many at this price or if they had "one" at all.

No doubt it would have been a sa-weet addition to any collection.

Thanks for the post anyway.

If you already own a Standard Tele and want the neck humbucker, you might consider installing one of the Stacked Humbucker designs into your existing Tele. These do not require any routing, or other nonreversible changes to the axe, they fit in the same place as the original neck pup and the wires simply soldered in place. KEEP THE ORIGINAL PICKUP.

Seymour Duncan is the brand I once used.

Turned a standard old blonde Tele into more of a blues machine for me.

There is a difference in the sound here, the Stacked Humbucker didn't quite have the bark of a double coil hummer, but in actual use that did not matter as much as having no humbucker in the neck at all. I could easily make up for that at the amp. Set all knobs but Master Volume to 7 and wail away.

The neck on these G&Ls gets too narrow and skinny down toward the nut to suit me (nut width is 1-5/8). That's a common problem for me with a lot of guitars made in Asia.

The guitar player in the band I'm in brought a new tele to the gig last night. It was the Aztec gold Fender FSR Standard, $499.99 at Guitar Center. I was really impressed with the neck on it, and he was tickled pink with it. No buyers remorse there lol.

I'd recommend checking it out to any one thinking about a new tele.

Don't have a Tele yet Mac, do have an American Strat. But I will find a nice Tele somewhere for the right price. Trying to stay American but might just bite the bullet for this model made in Mexico if I don't find a better deal.

Heck this one was made in Korea with American parts and I was told the Fenders are made in Mexico also have American parts, just saying.

The old gunfighters used to say, "Beware the man with only one gun, for the odds are good that he knows how to use it."

And ya don't get to be an old gunfighter unless you know whatcher talkin' about.

Mac,

Good point, and well taken . . . I have a closet full of guitars and must confess that 99% of the time I play the same one and still have a lot to learn. :>

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
