I believe you were the one that suggested one thread. Thanks. Honestly I just never thought to do it that way. Thanks again!

Well, they don't call themselves Christians, they call themselves practioners of "Messianic Judaism" and still worship in Synagogs, including the Talmud, celebrate all the Jewish holidays as well as the Christian along with the New Testament teachings. "Insider" term -- "The Remnant".

I enjoy worship with my friends at one of the local Messianic Temples several times a year. The minor mode rules. <g>

Someone claiming to be so well-read on the subject should know that also...

They can call themselves Martians but if they worship Christ, they're Christians. I've known Christians who follow Jewish traditions just for the heck of it.

There's nothing in the Bible about this, but thanks for promoting me from "having read the Bible" to being an expert.

Thank you, Robert, for condensing your posts into one thread.

Now all of us "swine" will be able to feed from one trough. Thanks, Robh and Lawrie for the evocative porcine metaphor... yes, I know, it's in the bible.

I felt rather slighted they didn't name the "swine" flu after me!

Met a lady at the shop the other day and she did a family tree search and found that back in the 1600's in Germany/France area her family was Jewish. One of the sons stayed Orthodox and the other became French Huguenot because of the persecution they suffered.
There are a lot of Christians that have Jewish roots. As far as I know, I'm just adopted into Abraham's family through Christ, either way, it is fine with me.
One of my favorite musicians is Paul Wilbur who's music i'm sure you know is about "Messianic Judaism", such as the song Adonai.

Interesting, but not surprising.

Many people don't realize how many ancestors they have. A person has 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 g-gp, 16 gg-gp, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 etc. If you figure 25 years / generation you don't have to go back far to have 10,000's of ancestors.

400 years ago would be 16 generations. 2^16 = 65,536 ancestors. We are indeed the family of man.

(Aside - all us old computer guys recoginize those numbers. I bet most can quickly write them in hex.)

There is PLENTY in the Bible about this. The very first followers of Christ were Jews, as were the 12 apostles and Yeshua himself! The church *started* in Jerusalem, among Jews! Matter of fact, that is what created the first martyr, Stephen. The book of Acts will be enough to show this. This is basic information.

The more you type, the more you reveal your ignorance on the subject, man, something that should concern you, actually.

But one can prove anything they want if they make stuff up and call it data, and that is what you are doing here.

An older programmer I once knew used to say, "You can make the data confess to *anything* if you torture it long enough..."

At least take the time to gather, learn and know the dataset before starting in on the data torture.

Please.

Jesus was a Jew? Gee thanks. I didn't know that. Is the Pope Catholic too?

The point of the post I answered was what do they call modern day Jews who believe in Jesus! There is definitely nothing in the Bible about that. Anyone who believes Christ was the saviour is by definition a Christian. That's not too difficult to understand.

Maybe you should wear your glasses when you read these posts.

I haven't always been a great person either however I'm Jewish and can't give myself to Jesus as he doesn't exist. Am I screwed or what?

Nah, my father-in-law was what he liked to call a "completed Jew". A Jewish man who came to Christ - plenty of 'em around.

Yes, they're called Christians and they are a sizable minority of the world's population.

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

That must have been around when the term was first used. And it means the same thing today. (Translated of course).

Sam, you do have a point, but haven't you noticed that the greatest impetus is coming from people who appear to be trolling? Robert simply invited prople to read his blog, it was HT who brought it all back to this forum.

OTOH no one's forcing anyone to read it...

Lawrie, I don't have a problem. Believe it or not, I'm actually quite enjoying this thread

I just don't like it when people disagree with my disagreement with organised religion... Personally, I find the more disorganised it is, the better (actually that was a flamethrower in any case - no need to insult the natives. Know what I mean?)

I see. One should be able to make religious posts but responding to them is trolling. Whatever.

Nobody forced you to read MY posts either.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
