It was pointed out on the main PT forum that nobody had actually put a request for improved ASIO support in the wishlist so here it is. I have the EMU 1820M with the EMU asio and asio4all. I spent over an hour last night focused on just the EMU asio trying to get it to play my B4 plugin glitch free and no joy. Not even at 100 ms. It was just solid glitch noise. I finally gave up on that and moved to asio4all. That was better but still glitchy. After 20 minutes or so I got it to where I can play the B4 by itself ok but as soon as my 3 audio tracks start so did the glitches. I was at least another hour messing around with the settings in that control panel and finally using a combination of hardware buffering, and different sample buffers got it to play at about 20ms and I finally laid down my track. 20ms it not good but I managed. To really add some spice to this story, PT crashed 6 times during this process and don't ask what exactly precipitated the crashes. All I can say is it was both the EMU and asio4all. I would change something, try to exit the window and BAM, crash. This ASIO thing must be addressed.

2nd that Too many complaints by too many people having ASIO issues inside PT and saying it works fine in other softwares..
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

One of the things that made me leave PTPA.
The wish has been there in perpetuity for the past 3+ years but PG chops the end off the wishlist now and then.
Likewise with real VSTi support.

posted 080520 I know this was originally an older post, issues still the same.
I have suffered major trauma over the last 2 days trying to get PT to actually work with a variety of ASIO drivers, and I just get noise, and the DXI dialogue box under "MIDI driver setup" does not list my DXI synths, (Band in a Box does). The audio was originally recorded with a variety of drivers and devices all samples were 44.1kh 16bit.
I know that this is an inexpensive application, but it is the perfect companion for Band in a Box and has so many cool well thought out functionality in terms of importing and exporting from BB, and many other features that the BIG guys have never thought of.... like showing the chords!!!.
If a decision by PG Music was made to really develop this into a real professional tool, with a killer wave editor, like the original TripleDat for example, I for one, would pay 10 times the present asking price for such a tool.
In case readers are not familiar with my reference to "TripleDat" it was, and is the most intuitive and easy to use wave editor ever developed. It was a CREAMWARE of Germany product. Most TV and broadcast stations used it exclusively for years until it was discontinued to great dismay and of many, and consequently resurrected. You could do in seconds, what would take you hours to do with Cubase or Sonar etc....
Don't really mean to rant on, as this is a PT wish list forum, just wanted the developers to know what was a good example of a fabulous wave editor production tool.
Cheers

The ASIO thing with PG is really quite amazing. Their support says PT 12 works fine with it, but for me PT 12 crashes not only with the Edirol ASIO driver that came with my sound interface, but ASIO4ALL as well. This long-standing issue has almost driven me away from PTPA, but I want to wait until their next version to see if they can resolve it.
Also, PG, please make your PG plugins 24 bit compatible. Rewire support would be cool also.
Thanks!

I had a problem with imported files from a collab and PT.
The other fellow recorded the tracks in PT, too. Exported as WAV files and sent to me.
My ASIO drivers for the stout AP2496 would only make distorted half-music and mostly noise in PT.
Had to switch to MME for that one job.
All other times, ASIO and PT work well with that card here.
Something's up, that's certain.
