Because it's the right thing to do...

LET'S STAY IN

you've always been one
who enjoyed the spotlight
you love partying with friends
deep into the night
but lately things have gotten crazy
feels like we might drown
maybe we consider
slowing it down
let's go a different way
we can stay right here girl
what do you say

   let's stay in
seems like the best thing we can do
   baby let's stay in
   you take care of me
   i'll take care of you
   let's stay in

i know your friends play
fast and loose with the truth
believe it not
no one's bulletproof
so sooner or later
they'll be caught off guard
laugh all they want
it'll bring them down hard
so let's go a different way
we can stay right here girl
what do you say

   let's stay in
seems like the best thing we can do
   baby let's stay in
   you take care of me
   i'll take care of you
   let's stay in

let's go a different way
we can stay right here girl
what do you say

   let's stay in
seems like the best thing we can do
   baby let's stay in
   you take care of me
   i'll take care of you
   let's stay in
   let's stay in
   let's stay in
   wait for the fade
   let's stay in...

Hi Floyd ...

Musically, quite a bit different than what you usually do. But I like it!

As always, your track selection and mix is spot on. The lyric says it all. But I think your chorus, in it's simplicity and very appropriate message really captures the heart of the song. Well done and the best advice possible. When a song is well conceived, well constructed, well delivered, and says something worthwhile ... you can't do much better. Just my thoughts.

Take care and be safe.

Alan

FJ,
raising a bar in turbulent times takes skill and will. Excellent supportive song! You really got a hang of using contemporary sounds and still have a traditional Country feel of your tunes. Listens very smooth. When I try to do something like this, it either sounds too banal or too weird, you on the other hand found a solid middle ground fusing styles. Mix & vocals are A+ (I would not expect less smile )
Thank you for sharing!

Man, you are the master, floyd. You make me wanna kneel on the floor raising my arms up and down while bending my head low. Whenever I hear one of your productions, I always feel, "Yeah, that's what I want to be able to do." Well done! Well said!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Dear Floyd,

WOW - I wouldn't be surprised if this song would break the charts...

Thanks a lot for chosing the subject, and thanks a lot for working it out with such a heck of a tune. Top-notch lyrics, fantastic melody (and what a chorus...), a great backing track and your vocals are simply gorgeous and very convincing.

Good, good, good....

Stay healthy, silverback !!!

1st verse...aw, a love song.
Chorus-See, this is nice
2nd verse-those people are idiots and they get what's coming to them. (Exaggeration) lol
Chorus to End-See, this is nice

Great section builds in this. Just the perfect song for current events. I hope it makes some people on both sides of the fence think!

What a cool song!

So, I responded and am now left with nothing to do. I guess I'll just sit here and wait until you post your next song later this morning. wink

That's the way it's done. laugh

It's got the plausible deniability of appearing to be "just" a love song, with the specifics being vague enough to apply to just about any relationship.

Of course, well written, sung, and produced. Pop and fun to listen to - loved the claps and other loops.

Floyd you knocked it out of the park again!

A great message here.

This should be on the radio ASAP.

That's cool - a U2 style ballad in the backing and an fj style narrative & melody on top. Works wonderfully well.

This song will be around and relevant as a great song long after Covid-19. The lyrics are as appropriate to general 'love' as they may pertain to the virus.

Instrumentally and lyrically you've written a song that's as pertinent to life after Covid-19 as it is to our current circumstances. Every now and then a song comes along that touches us. You've hit on every now and on every then. You sure pulled it off with this one. It makes my list of favorite Floyd Jane songs...

Enjoyed my listen.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
