I usually use tag endings with the "typical" four bar endings. I am still having great difficulty in BIAB 2010, however, with the Realdrummer playing right on through the ending.

I have attempted a "Reset BIAB to factory settings" without much luck. I have also noticed that things work differently with ASIO vs. MME. ASIO is quite unstable, both Creative and ASIO4ALL; but it does produce correct arrangements, it seems. MME works in a much more stable way (as long as I minimize screen interaction that will tend to produce the occasional timing "burp"); but the endings are all messed up.

Has anyone else noticed situations such as this?

If your ending chord is a 6 (ex: F6), there are some problems with that. If so, change it to a maj 7 or something and see if the problem goes away. Also, I have found that Unfolding the song may help with the drum problem.

Which style, drums, and RT are you using?

Hi cressjl,

Do you have the latest build (#295) installed for BIAB? If you have installed it, it might pay to double-check under Help >> About-Band-In-A-Box to see that the update has actually "taken".

Also, in your post you say "as long as I minimize screen interaction". I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Does this mean that you are making some changes to a song's arrangement during the course of its playback? Does the problem occur with arrangements that have Realtracks in them as well as arrangements that are entirely MIDI? If you get a chance, could you please elaborate a little more.

Regards,
Noel

The latest patch is #298, which was posted on March 31, 2010.

Thanks for the feedback, and I apologize for the delayed response.

I am currently using Build 298. However, this has been a RealDrums issue that I have had for quite some time. I'm not sure whether RealTracks also is involved; in fact, I know that in some instances the RealTracks end correctly but not the RealDrums.

This has been a somewhat random issue, but not intermittent in that it occurs a majority of the time on quite a few song files.

I will try to isolate an offending song, freeze the arrangement, and send it up.

I'd treat it as a feature. Maybe they want you to pay them more?

Sorry couldn't resist.

I have this problem as well on maybe a half a dozen tunes I am currently working on. It is specific to the RTs I have in the song. The first measure of the ending works as expected, but when it hits the second measure, the RTs kick back in and jam for like another measure or three. Something is going on with the new 2-bar/4-bar ending features that wasn't intended.

I have had this happen before and I unchecked the 4 bar ending and all is well. I had the two bar and 4 bar ending selected and end two bars early selected.

Dave makes a good point, I also found that fiddling with those controls and trying it different ways made something in there click and start working as I wanted.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
