Hello, I founded a Gypsyband called "Manouche A Trois" several months ago. I am usually a Jazz (Hardbop, Bebop) guitarist and am just about teaching myself this new style. Fortunately one of the best gypsy guitarists in Europe - Martin Spitzer - helps me a lot with good tips. So please forgive, it`s not my usual level, but I`m enjoying this kinda music so much. I play all the rhythm-guitar parts plus lead guitar on each track except on "Isn`t She lovely" (just rhythm here) Enjoy, Sandra

You play it beautifully.

There are indeed videos, but the picture quality isn`t so professional, so we`ll do some more filmings and learning by doing.
Can anybody tell me what "chops" are. heard it quite often.

Chops is the ability to play an instrument.
If one says that you have good chops that means you can play very well.
When you are at the checkout line and they ask if you found everything say "Why, are you hiding stuff?"

For those who don`t know: "Manouche" is the french (sinti-) gypsy style, made famous by Django Reinhardt.

Kind of like "Menage a trois", but the wife and I have argued for years about who gets the middle and it's never been resolved. LOL.
That started years ago when she told one of her personal assistants who was apartment hunting that I did all the women's work and she had to shovel the snow. The idea of having a man cooking and doing laundry lead to weeks of crazy humour where she brought books with pictures of big beds, and photos of my lamb chop lollipops and filet mignon with mushroom and baby carrots ragout.
I did listen to your music and I could go out some afternoon and listen to that for hours. By the time 8 p.m. comes I can no longer stand easily, (it the arthritis), so I'm sitting in a chair....trying to decide which pain killer to take, narcotics, white wine, red wine, a combination...choices....
