Have reported this bug for build after build...
On Mac, the track listings under the Show Active, Show Inactive pull down menu in the mixer are all able to be SAVED 'chk-on' or 'chk-off' for correct later viewing EXCEPT THE MELODY TRACK. For now, it is ALWAYS ON until manually unchkd. It will not save for next time. For any song that does not use the Melody track, it must be UNchkd EACH TIME that song is reopened. As I use BIAB for daily rehearsal & rarely utilize the Melody track, this means constant hours of needless repetition.
Yes, each time I open any given song, the proper tracks are listed in the mixer PLUS the Melody track -- which I then must manually go into yet again & unchk so the mixer shows only the correctly used tracks. Can this please be fixed?
Many BIAB reps have chkd this w/ me & replicated this problem. They keep telling me "maybe next build..."
In the FIX notes for the Mac 2023 release, I eagerly looked to see if it had been fixed & alas, no listing for this bug...
PLEASE!!! Pls update this code in a new build so that I can set the Melody line once & forget it, just like every other mixer track available...

The current behaviour is that if auto-show/hide tracks is selected in the Mixer Settings, any empty track will be hidden, unless it is the selected track. The Melody track is the default selected track when you launch Band-in-a-Box, so that is why you are seeing the Melody track appear. A solution for you is to select another track (e.g. Drums), and then the Melody track will stay hidden. Hopefully we'll come up with a better solution for this in the program, but for now, at least you know that you don't have to keep unchecking the Melody track, just make sure that it isn't the selected track.

Thanks, Andrew. Not intuitive, no, but I just tried that workaround & it works. Thx! Yes, if they can fix that bug, it would be a god send. I never select tracks when opening files to rehearse - only rarely if I need/want to update some aspect of a track, & never knew about that Melody default. So I never would have made that connection. For folks (like me) who rarely/never use the Melody track, it still means extra needless clicking around each song file to click other tracks. So hopefully they can fix this for a nearby Build release. E.J. NYC
