Love the feel and groove of your song, and as usual terrific vocal performance from you. As a songwriter you might not like to hear this comment, but the production is really, really good. Powerful but clean guitars, great drums, great bass and still plenty of room for your vocals. I take my hat off to you guys. It doesn't get any better than this! Oh, and thanks for bringing RT 1000 to my attention. That's exactly what I would have needed for my last song Without knowing 10 guitars and 2 basses were used I would have never been the wiser. That's a testament to good mixing.
As usual, very pro-polished. You guys should collab on more songs.
Great job. Thanks guys! And BTW Bass Thumper we have 80+ collabs with fj over the last 10 years... mostly harmony parts but some cowrites. You are a relative forum newbie! ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) We much appreciate all y’all said. J&B

Awesome co-write, gents! An ordinary phrase turned into a great hook, well done. Starting with the chorus on this one was spot on. Great vocals as usual Floyd.
Na zdrowie!
Dewey Floyd and Bud, Nashville country at its absolute best. Loved those drums (thanx for the mixing tip) Great vocal, as usual I really love your lyrics, I wish that I had talent like that. I doubt that I could have mixed all of those guitars and have it come out half as good as your mix, great job on that. Loved this one. Lots of guitars abut there's space in the mix and no mush - well done. I love the snare but the kick is a little batter head/clicky for me...it's a hard work around and most BIBA RealDrums seem to have it these days. REALLY good narrative and the playfulness of the lyric underwrites a sad story well. The voice is, as always, the thing and the performance is wonderful. Thanks, chaps, for the chance to listen. Good one, guys!
Very clever using the different guitars to build the intensity as the song progresses. Wasn't mad about the tone on the guitar solo, a little thin for my tastes, but not much you can do about that. Drums sounds great!
Excellent write, and of course, excellent vocal. Hey guys, thank for commenting on the write! Bud

WOW! Smack me in the face with that terrific vocal. Such a good sound beginning to end. 10 guitar tracks!!!!!!!!!! Even two basses. So well done on all the usual levels, and Bud is always a good choice. Brilliant lyrics. What a good, powerful song. Well done, Bud. Floyd who? ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

Power ballad with an optimistic angle in the story, I guess many people are desperately looking for those hopeful signs. Interestingly starts with a light chorus and then on the 2nd chorus the song really kicks off. Good use of both held and muted guitars, quite many used, but doesn't sound crowded, so the mix is excellent. Enjoyed also the guitar solo parts and the quality vocals.

Floyd & Bud,
Awesome opening!
Love the song and the production. Exceptional mix.
10 guitars - WOW! The solo electric is perfect.
Floyd, your vocal is great. In the pocket and in the groove.
Great, great stuff!
Bob
Thanks, Bob... Bad news often can be worse. Great song, great performance. Well done to all involved - another classic. Thanks, James. Country is just 3 chords, on ten guitars, and the truth. Or 2 chords and some half-truths (I'm working on that song) Thanks for the great review... Love the feel and groove of your song, and as usual terrific vocal performance from you. As a songwriter you might not like to hear this comment, but the production is really, really good. Powerful but clean guitars, great drums, great bass and still plenty of room for your vocals. Congratulations you two. My favourite line "so the good news is the bad news could've been worse"' but the whole write is so smooth. Mix is great too. Excellent!

This is one of my favorite co-writes from you and Bud. It is really cool to hear your interpretation and to note the similarities and differences. Your vocals are sublime and the band really is powerful. And don’t we all need more good news?! ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) Love it! Janice

Thanks, ray. I don't normally "hear" the kick-click that you refer to. But I think I may have here when I tried a new pair of wireless earbuds (earfun). They seem to accentuate that particular frequency. And still my ear ignores it. (I have more a "dislike" for the cymbals in the program) Good one, guys!

Excellent write, and of course, excellent vocal. Thanks, Dave. I've always like that high-screamin' kind of guitar tone... Hi Floyd and Bud,
As everyone here, I was also counting the guitars and basses you used in the song and wondering how this could be kept alright. But you both succeeded wonderfully! A lovely song, top vocals and lyrics (of course, because it is Floyd) and a powerful performance. Thanks for sharing how you managed the sound of the drums. I can put that into practice, I think...
Hans
Thanks, Hans...

So much good stuff in this.
The subtle fleeting harmonies, the drums are awesome sounding, nice guitar tracks, and a great hook in the lyrics... the good news coulda been worse.

Wow, 12 RTs and it stills sounds clean and so professional. That’s a wonder in itself . . . but then add the lyric, the vocal, the catchy melody and chorus . . . a killer hook . . . and you have one killer tune . . . which is what this is. Outstanding work, gents!!
My best to you both,
Deej

Floyd and Bud...now that's some great writing (I expect nothing less at this point from you guys)...super vocals Floyd...I love the build in the song and using so many RTs must have taken a while to figure out but it is seamless and such a great track! everything everyone else have said...well I'll get on the bandwagon for sure...I'm always blown away by your stuff...I hope you have an avenue to pitch your song on up the food chain 'cause they are always top-tier! thanks, Dan... floyd
Always liked this song, interesting to compare it with Janice and your earlier version.
Love them both.
Peter Thanks, Peter... Big sound, big chorus, clean mix, well sung, nice harmonies, easy to hear everything, excellent hook, in your face guitar solo... Lots of tracks, but used selectively so everything sounds organic. Great work, as usual. ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) Thanks, David... Hi Floyd,
It's been a while, but it's good to see that you haven't lost your ability to produce Radio Ready songs. With SO many realtracks you still managed to give space to everything and the mix is fabulous. Great lyrics, great vocals and even a guitar solo - you must have known I was coming.
It's good to be back. Best, ROG Thanks, ROG. Good to see ya back...

FJ & Bud, Nice! Good message - excellent delivery. I think that is the most tracks I have seen in your tunes, but unlike the mud that I get when I get track greedy, this sounds absolutely great. Clear mix and listens very well. Thank you for sharing and congrats of successful colab.
Misha.
P.S. FJ, I rarely have constructive suggestions on your tunes, but I think the drum break at 2:42 doesn't sound right. Meaning, you have large sounding drums, and sudden muffle without feedback makes it a little strange to my ears. Thanks, Misha. I listened a number of times to the drum break. The cymbal sounds choked (is that what is making it not work for you?) I may have cut that cymbal intentionally (BIAB cymbals and I do not get along). Fantastic, Floyd!!!
