I take my hat off to you guys. It doesn't get any better than this!

Oh, and thanks for bringing RT 1000 to my attention. That's exactly what I would have needed for my last song

Great job.

Thanks guys! And BTW Bass Thumper we have 80+ collabs with fj over the last 10 years... mostly harmony parts but some cowrites. You are a relative forum newbie! smile

We much appreciate all y’all said.

I really love your lyrics, I wish that I had talent like that.
I doubt that I could have mixed all of those guitars and have it come out half as good as your mix, great job on that.
Loved this one.

REALLY good narrative and the playfulness of the lyric underwrites a sad story well.
The voice is, as always, the thing and the performance is wonderful.
Thanks, chaps, for the chance to listen.

WOW! Smack me in the face with that terrific vocal. Such a good sound beginning to end. 10 guitar tracks!!!!!!!!!! Even two basses. So well done on all the usual levels, and Bud is always a good choice. Brilliant lyrics. What a good, powerful song. Well done, Bud. Floyd who? smile

Enjoy whatever happens!

Power ballad with an optimistic angle in the story, I guess many people are desperately looking for those hopeful signs.
Interestingly starts with a light chorus and then on the 2nd chorus the song really kicks off. Good use of both held and muted guitars, quite many used, but doesn't sound crowded, so the mix is excellent. Enjoyed also the guitar solo parts and the quality vocals.

Congratulations you two.
My favourite line "so the good news is the bad news could've been worse"'
but the whole write is so smooth. Mix is great too.

This is one of my favorite co-writes from you and Bud. It is really cool to hear your interpretation and to note the similarities and differences.

Your vocals are sublime and the band really is powerful.

And don’t we all need more good news?! smile

Love it!

Thanks, ray. I don't normally "hear" the kick-click that you refer to. But I think I may have here when I tried a new pair of wireless earbuds (earfun). They seem to accentuate that particular frequency. And still my ear ignores it. (I have more a "dislike" for the cymbals in the program)

Thanks, Dave. I've always like that high-screamin' kind of guitar tone... smile

Thanks for sharing how you managed the sound of the drums. I can put that into practice, I think...

So much good stuff in this.

The subtle fleeting harmonies, the drums are awesome sounding, nice guitar tracks, and a great hook in the lyrics... the good news coulda been worse.

Floyd and Bud—

Wow, 12 RTs and it stills sounds clean and so professional. That’s a wonder in itself . . . but then add the lyric, the vocal, the catchy melody and chorus . . . a killer hook . . . and you have one killer tune . . . which is what this is. Outstanding work, gents!!

My best to you both,

P.S. FJ, I rarely have constructive suggestions on your tunes, but I think the drum break at 2:42 doesn't sound right. Meaning, you have large sounding drums, and sudden muffle without feedback makes it a little strange to my ears.

Thanks, Misha. I listened a number of times to the drum break. The cymbal sounds choked (is that what is making it not work for you?) I may have cut that cymbal intentionally (BIAB cymbals and I do not get along).
