Nicely done.

It doesn't have that typical cliche' sound that so many "Christmas" songs tend to have.

That paints a sweet picture of Christmas, Vic, so we’re glad you bullied yourself some. wink

The chorus is very nice.

Good one, Santa Man!

This has a lovely vibe that reminds me of Rod McKuen...he did sweet songs with simple, concise arrangements just like this.
You did a fabulous job of writing and singing.

Cheers

Hi and thanks, Musician 17.
I try to not use too many cliches although they are hard to avoid in a Christmas song.
Instead of cliche phrases I try to use recognisable Christmas words in a different way.

Hans.
Your "pressed" and "bullied" comment got me thinking.
I like corned beef. Some call it "bully beef".
The process of making it is by cooking and pressing.
Maybe that's how the term "bully" came into use.

Many thanks for your generous comments on the song.

Vic, I'm glad that you posted this one.
A great Christmas song.
Outstanding vocal, lyrics, backing band, and mix.
Loved it.

Very pleasant down-to-earth message. Nice folky tune without bells and whistles, the guitar approach works perfectly and the piano complements well. Catchy chorus. Good vocals and backing. Calming and not artifically jolly, I like that, although I wouldn't have said no to a child choir in the chorus smile

A child choir? Hmmm!
Where could I get hold of one of them?

Hi Vic.

Congratulations on getting a 2023 Christmas song under you belt smile I completely understand your reluctance to write in this genre.
This was really enjoyable listening. The over-arching sound is soothing and relaxing and it's exactly the kind of music that I enjoy listening the most.
You've got my round of applause.

Regards,
--Noel
