There are awkward jumps In bass lines often when theres a chord or key change which just dont happen in real jazz-bass life.
Ron Carter parts really dont sound like Ron - even the its him actually being recorded in the studio because phrases get abruptly transposed up an octave cut- transpose and- paste style - instead of the algorithm ensuring that the bass part is more like voice leading.
its a big give away when listening to the million BIAB jazz backing tracks now up on YouTube these days,

I was going to mention the Riff Edit function in the Tracks view but then I looked and you are on Mac so that could be another 6+ months. You have Cubase, Ableton but you can't do anything with them with RT data edit, you need Reaper.
