I still think of "Elvis" when I hear the song, regardless of what others say. Okay, Dave's guitar sounds a bit too modern for that decade, but it sounds goooood! Keeps my feet moving. Gimme more of that

Y'know, I usually listen to a song before reading the credits. Within a few seconds of listening I flipped back to see what those RealTracks were for the bass and lead guitar. Ha! No such luck. You both sound GREAT though! Loved the write, too, and those BGVs are subtle but killer. Everything is really clear in the production. With music of this era you MIGHT want to use a slapback delay a bit more, if you haven't already. I THINK I hear mostly reverb, but I have old ears. Ha! Great tune, well done!!

50's music at its finest Outstanding bass Excellent vocal Dave's guitar was outstanding as usual, however I agree that the tone is more today than yesterday. IMHO a Chuck Berry or Scotty Moore style may fit better, but who am I to tell a guitarist with outstanding chops what to do.
Loved it.

A toe tapper for sure. A nostalgic, upbeat sound. Hot guitar solo! I don't know all the ins and outs, but I would put a little lower eq on the voice and little less higher end. But I may be wrong---whenever they show the before and afters on audio production software, I can't hear any difference.

Hello Marty & Dave ...
A sweet trip back to the 1950s. As I listened, two very different singers of the 1950s came to mind - Hank Ballard and Frankie Avalon. I can just hear each of them putting their own treatment to this. But I doubt either one would be better than yours and Dave's production.
You and Dave make some great music! His guitar work on this is so fine! Ans your vocal fits perfectly. Good write, too. So, what's not to like? Not much! Actually, nothing.
Wishing both of you the very best Christmas ever.
Alan & Di

fj Ha, thanks, Floyd. Sorry to disappoint. Miles taught me that music has no rules (other than math), but he never said anything about videos. Hello 1959! Very cool vibe here Marty. As Floyd says, Sock Hop!

Bob 1959, February 3rd, was the day music died. So glad none of us here believe that. Cha! Cha! Cha!...great fun to listen to...you and Dave are an exceptional duo...she could walk with you but that bass is walking for all of us...super up-tempo song for an album cut! Thanks, Dan. Yeah, the bass had to walk through this one --but in a skipping sort of way. Thanks, Ron. Those BGVs was an afterthought, something to fill it out. Subtle was best for them --and for us. You're probably right about vox treatment. I really don't KNOW what I'm doing; I just throw pulug-ins at it and move a few sliders and declare, "Good enough for jazz."

I still think of "Elvis" when I hear the song, regardless of what others say. Okay, Dave's guitar sounds a bit too modern for that decade, but it sounds goooood! Keeps my feet moving. Gimme more of that Thanks, BD. Glad it reminds ya of that king, but he and I have little in common when it comes to singing. We both loved our mammas though. I never give Dave instructions on what to play; he always comes up with something better than I could imagine. I'm sure if Scotty Moore played That's Alright today, he would play it way differently than he did in the 50s. I hate tribute bands. If The Beatles did a gig this year, they'd be too creative to "play it just like the record." 50's music at its finest Outstanding bass Excellent vocal Dave's guitar was outstanding as usual, however I agree that the tone is more today than yesterday. IMHO a Chuck Berry or Scotty Moore style may fit better, but who am I to tell a guitarist with outstanding chops what to do.
Loved it. Ha, that's cool that you mentioned Scotty Moore, too, Mario. Still, I stick to my "do it differently" suggestion. [See my rant above with BD.] A toe tapper for sure. A nostalgic, upbeat sound. Hot guitar solo! I don't know all the ins and outs, but I would put a little lower eq on the voice and little less higher end. But I may be wrong---whenever they show the before and afters on audio production software, I can't hear any difference. Haha. Great comment, Scott. You're right about the hot guitar solo, and also about the vocal EQ. I'm sure I'd do better with someone else singing, but I really dislike mine. You describe my most common slider moves when going back in to fix the mix. Hello Marty & Dave ...

As Scott noted, the bass keeps that groove moving along.
I don't know anything about authenticity, but it was certainly a fun song to listen to.
Nice vocals, and Dave is stellar as always on the guitar.

Cool tune! Yep got that sweet vintage vibe. Excellent vocals and one of the coolest Dave's solos! Overall done exceptionally well. Easy listen. Sorry, no constructive stuff, it's good the way it is. Thank you for sharing.

We love the lyric’s theme of not just overcoming but rejoicing and the joyful sound of your band supports that so well. Your bass is the perfect glue and Dave’s solo is jubilant. The piano also really adds to that happy groove.
Those subtle BGV’s complement your fine lead vocal very well, Marty.
Another fine video too with lovely scenery that made us want to go for a long walk. 😊
Happy New Year!
