This is a remake of one of the first songs Christiane Spruit and I wrote together, back in 2016. A couple of the old-timers here might remember it wink

The vocal is new, and I also redid my guitar solo. The remake also has Marty Straub (BabuMusic) on bass.

We did the remake around 9 months ago. I wasn't going to post it seeing as it's been posted before, but my mother just recently passed, and I see that B.D. Thomas recently lost his mother also, so it seemed like an appropriate time.

This is a song about losing someone you love, so we dedicate it to anyone who has lost a loved one.

The Band:

Realdrums: NashvilleSwing8^1 initially, then switching to BluesRock128^4 during the guitar solo and the rest of the song

2457:Strings,Rhythm,CelticAir.

Mixed in Reaper, mastered with Ozone10.

WOW what a fantastic song.
Outstanding vocal and arrangement.
Dave you have so much talent it is scary.
Marty did a great job on that bass.
Beautiful, albeit very sad, song about losing a loved one.

Loved it.

Dave,

I do remember this one. I love this remake - absolutely beautiful and emotionally powerful.

Very sorry to hear about your Mom...

What can you say about Christiane's delivery - always flawless and perfect. Love Marty's bass and you deliver some of the best guitar tones around.

EXCELLENT!

Bob

Hi Dave,

yes, i remember it. This remake is astonishingly good! Chris' vocal is dripping with heartbreak. And your fretwork is always so perfect for whatever song you are doing. Love the tone of your guitar. Very delicate and full of soul. Chris just sings this one right out of the park. And you just can't go wrong with Marty on bass. What a fantastic group of talented artist on one song.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Wishing your family strength and healing. We've buried three of our children, so we can empathize.

A heartbreaking yet yet wonderful song. Congrats to all of you.

Best wishes,

Alan

I smile whenever I hear a Blue Atitude song, but this one is a smile with a tear. The pace, the sound of your guitar and the beautiful flowing of Christiane's voice teases strong memories to the forefront --beautiful memories. The smile is for how those memories have fashioned my life, and the tear is because they are memories.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Dave
I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother
All the better that you have released this song
Chris brings so much emotion to this song.
And your guitar sets so many beautiful accents, especially your exceptionally beautiful guitar solo
the background track together with Marty is of course the basis for such a great song
I hope for you that the sadness will soon give way to joy.
Thank you for the great song
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

I'm really sorry for your loss, Dave. I really appreciate you thinking of me as you go through the same thing.

I don't know what the original version sounded like, but this one is great.
Perfect arrangement, great guitar and bass, and of course Chris' vocals are the icing on the cake.
I love everything about your song [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Sad story touches whatever the year, although for different reasons for different listeners. Sorry to hear that it is timely for you now. Blue Attitude was an excellent blues band in 2016, and still is after 8 years, even better, the remake is of highest quality. The performances of Dave, Chris and Marty bring smile to my face and tears into my eyes.

I wasn't on the board when you originally posted this. I'm so glad you posted it again. This remake is stunning and stirring. The vocal is so expressive and heartfelt. Wow. Everything else is spot on too, guitar and bass.

BlueAttitude,

Wow, this is hauntingly sad . . . that opening just pulls the listener in. Christine’s vocal is so awesome here—full and soulful and heart wrenching. Absolutely brilliant! Bravo to all involved!

Oh, and killer, killer guitar work. Stellar. First class, professional tune.

Hi, Dave.

Everyone brought their "A" game to this song. Nothing overdone - just tight and controlled.

Excellent job by the team!
