Better quality sound on the video than on Soundcloud so I'd suggest listening with the image minimized if you're not inclined to watch a vid. Thanks for the suggestions, I employed them all.

Ray, not tracking all the changes, but this is a really, REALLY fine sounding song this time around. Love the recurring guitar line based on the "look at me" vocal line. Just gets stuck in your head.
FWIW, I didn't find the video distracting, and it is pretty amusing.
Liked this a lot!

Really outstanding job mixing it to perfection, Ray. I can hear the vocal well, and, man, cool bass playing and I dig the tone. Always interesting videos, too. YOu have so much in there and it all comes spilling out at the right time to add the perfet touch. Cool song.
Enjoy whatever happens! marty

Thanks Ron, It's not a standard progression...nominally in A and chromatic movement more than changes. I've added the chord chart to the O.P. if you care to have a squiz.

Thanks Marty, the M.E. had to do some tidying on this one - I wasn't focused enough on levels but he fixed it. Shouldn't have needed to but he's good that way. Bass tone - I described the process in my reply to Floyd in the W.I.P. thread.

Another great song from you. I listened to the WIP several days ago. The biggest difference I can discern is the clarity of everything in the mix. To me, it sounds brighter and somewhat more nuanced. The WIP was pretty good - but it really shines now.
I'll repeat what i said in the WIP comments - that organ near the end sounds so cool! And the flash at the ending is the cherry atop the hot fudge sundae.
Really nicer! You always put out some really good music!

Ha! I SHOULD have said "...not tracking the EDITS..." since I didn't see or can't recall your original version of the song. BUT...after looking at your chord sheet, I realized I really wasn't tracking your "changes" either. Very instructive to see it laid out and reference it back to what I thought I heard. THANKS for posting the chord sheet to your cool song! Oh, and for expanding my vocabulary with "squiz".

Ray. It's not a genre I know much about but the whole production sounds right to me. The only nit I have is the last vocal note of A after the Em. To me it sounds too "happy". I would have preferred to hear an E vocal note before the E#m.
Ray, I didn't keep track of the edits so I can't comment on that but this sounds really great. Outstanding mix, I could hear everything very clearly. Gotta love a B3 right? Both the song and the video took me back to the psychedelic days! I think The Doors could have sung this song. Loved it.

Hey man, sorry to be late responding ... but we wanted to listen to the first versions and absorb the comments.
Well you said it is an obvious ode but what a great one. Janice and I listened to them a lot in the 80's when we were experimenting with a sonic hologram generator stereo setup. Seriously
Your vocals sound great in the more upfront mix, your bass nails it and Fran’s mastering yielded a great soundstage on our monitors.
The organ sits in the mix better than about 90% of what we hear. Excellent.
Good video too! Cool imagery all the way. Is that any of Syd's work?
