It's a beautiful horn, it's nice to have something named after you.

However, I think I would have went for a couple of Sophisticats engraved on the bell.

Hi Bob,
That's a sweet looking horn!!
I may look into a nickel plated alto for my next Synthophone.

I had my Selmer MarkVII completely overhauled, buffed, & relaquered by Larry Mizell, in Hagerstown, MD.
Selmer used to do all my work, but they no longer have the craftsmen in Elkhart.
Larry's work was equal to the factory.

I think Anderson Plating is the place most of the folks on Sax On The Web recommend.

http://www.andersonsilverplating.com

I was told, that the nickel should last longer than me, and at worst it may eventually dull a little like the US nickel coin.

If I ever get a synthophone (and I do have GAS for one) I'd nickel plate an old alto and then have Martin put the guts in that.

I have a 1925 silver plated King alto, and it held up fairly well, but it has the voice of an angel, so I'm going to leave it just as it is.

And Gary, you are right. The Sophisticats logo would like nice engraved on the bell.

I did have the Sophisticats logo put on my modded LTD guitar

Congratulations Bob. As Trax said above, it will be good to hear it some time soon.

That's nice, Bob!

I hope that you really enjoy this sax, and that in fact, it does last longer than you do, so you'll have as much enjoyment out of it for as long as possible.

Notes,
you have contributed so much to the world of BIAB and to the various forums where its enthusiasts congregate that I am happy to see you so pleased with your new toy. I've learned a lot from the things you've written through the years... And I find myself agreeing with much of your philosophy, when you see fit to state it.

Thanks for all that you do to add value to the world around you. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your new sax, and I further hope that if it outlives you, it ain't by much.
(and not because of the sax wearing out too soon)

Notes,

With all of the work you've put into your web page lately, I'll bet you haven't got to play this beauty much.
