Hey, I want to give a shout out to Joanne Cooper's LyricLab tool which is now integrated with Band-in-a-Box 2024. Whether you care about AI generated lyrics or not is kind of beside the point, there are some really extraordinary features in this tool which allow you to refine the lyrics and add chords and then export as a BIAB compatible file. This provides some powerful features when you want to use Band in a Box 2024 as a template for writing lyrics or editing the lyrics inside of Band-in-a-Box as you're tweaking and changing the chords and so forth. It is really neat. I wouldn't say that I use the export exactly the way it comes out because I tend to use more syllables in the measures than is commonly done. But the first thing that I'll do is take the text export from Joanne's program with whatever I'm babbling at the time that the LyricLab tool has refined and/or formatted, and I will keep hitting the return button until every line has a different chord in front of it. If you say Verse and Chorus and Bridge, it obeys you, which is handy. Then I will simply cut and paste until I have as many syllables in front of that chord as I want for the verses and choruses and the bridge and so forth. I create an intro by doing this before the Verse starts, like [G] [Em] [C] [D] The format after this is: (Verse 1) [Chord] word word word word [Chord] word word word word etc. (Chorus) [Chord] word word word word [Chord] word word word word (Bridge) [Chord] word word word word [Chord] word word word word etc All of the final words and chords may change but at least I have the layout. (If I have chord changes within the measure, I will do that later when I am up and running in BIAB.) After that save it again as a .txt file, import into Band-in-a-Box. Voila. (Obviously you can you use this process in a .txt format as a "template" without LyricLab, but LyricLab is mind-boggling, so I recommend it. It's not the final draft but it's a really, really convenient way to stare at your lyrics inside of Band-in-a-Box and figure out what you want to do with the rhyme and the meter and the chords all in one place and change the tempo and so forth. The tool doesn't produce the final chords that I will use but it gives me a starting place and a structure to work in. I can definitely say that this is a very useful tool that I will be using a lot in order to create greater efficiencies and just thought I would point that out for those others who might be interested.
