Mario...it's not my cup-o-tea but I believe that musical experimentation in different genres helps us grow in our appreciation of all of its forms...as usual you have jumped into the deep end an came out alive...do you do schlager or dubstep as well? you are the "MIDI master" and a "genre giant" my friend.

Thanx Dan. I had to look up Schlager and dubstep! No I haven't done either, obviously! Schlager I may attempt at a later date but I doubt I will do a dubstep song. But with enough Geritol who knows!

When we hear EDM during a tv series or in a commercial it's a race to who can hit the remote mute button first! smile
However we greatly commend you for your curiosity, experimental nature and, perhaps, bravery.

And it does nothing but good for folks new to BiaB to hear examples of its amazing versatility.
Knowing zip about the fundamentals of the genre your song sounded good on our monitors.
I fully realize that floyd and other's suggestions regarding the low end could well plant our monitors on the back wall. smile

Have fun!

Janice and Bud, I'm glad you didn't hit the remote when listening this song grin
I believe and tried to show with this song, and I use the term song quite liberally, that with BiaB and a little imagination you can produce any genre,

I'm not a fan of EDM but I do like to explore new, at least to me, genres.

EDM is not my thing, but this certainly works for club dancing. The only dance moves I know - at least when I'm not incorporating tai chi - are what I learned back in my teens in the 60s (when we was fab and slowly evolving to far-outitude), which is a bit like moonwalking without the walking part, so when listening to this I automatically found my feet flowing with it. Keep up the great 'n'groovy 'sperimenting!

Well, your EDM song fit nicely with the 'modern music' Soundcloud commercial that followed. So, you must of done something right. Nice work.

Thanx so much for listening and commenting. I will be doing one more EDM utilizing the suggestions that were given. Actually EDM is not my thing either.

Thanx Scott. Yes EDM has a heavy beat throughout but IMHO thin on leads and chord progressions.

As someone who has made bouncy electronic music on my old Korg 01-wfd synth workstation(albeit a bit darker in tone), I gotta say that I like your stuff. I enjoy listening to music like that and look forward to your next song using this genre.

I am not sure I could do this on my version of BIAB, though. Do you have one of the higher end version? I haven't found too much electronic/techno stuff on mine.

Floyd has the goods on this - the top end, melody line and arrangement are solid but the bottom end isn't solid enough - the snare off to the left is too natural a as well. Get the bottom end really pumping.
I like to top half.

Thanx so much and I would like to hear your music.
I have the ultra-pak and I use MIDI. You can check and see if you have the style that I used.
Yes BiaB doesn't have a lot of electronic, techno, ambient, new age, or other genres BUT with MIDI you can take other genres and turn them into them. All it takes is a little imagination and experimentation.

Thanx for listening Ray, Yes Floyd gave me a very valuable review. EDM is a genre that I am not the familiar.

Cool stuff there. I'm listening on my office computer speakers. I'll check again later on my studio rig with the sub.

Overall..... nice work. It could use some variation throughout. It remains kind of constant which becomes boring with time. Shake it up and make it interesting. While EDM tends to ride a constant chord.... there are parts that work well with changes. You don't want to fall into a 1-4-5 thing though. Listen to the demos on the link below.

You should grab this plugin.

GLITCH

It has the sorts of FX you can use effectively in this genre.... the dives, the echos, the demodulations, and a bunch of other things. I had this on my old computer but haven't grabbed the new version yet since I don't often need this sort of effect. But for dance music it's a good tool to have in the pocket.

You can find my music at:
www.herbhartley.com
Add nothing that adds nothing to the music.
You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.

The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Thanx so much Herb for your incite to EDM. Glitch2 looks like a great tool for EDM and if I get more into EDM I will purchase it. My plans right now are to do one more EDM utilizing all of the suggestions I have received.
