I was told that you guys might be available to help me out with my song if I had technical difficulties. So here's what I am having an issue with with this song. First, the music mix doesn't come out clear and clean enough. Second, the vocal is similar in that it doesn't separate itself and come out clear enough, And also I am trying to take the reverb down and I'm not getting it done. Finally, the over all sound of the song just isn't professional enough in my opinion. Please let me know if you can help me out here. Please let me know if there is a way that I can attach my song for your evaluation. It's an SGU file that I wanted evaluated if possible.
Thanks, Eric

Hi, Eric. So that I'm not making assumptions, what sort of background do you have in mixing songs? First, the music mix doesn't come out clear and clean enough. Could you clarify this? Are you saying that the mix sounds fine when you listen in BiaB, but it doesn't sound good when you render the file to a .wav? Or do you mean that when you solo the instruments (there's a "s" button on the mixer which allows a track to be soloed) the track sounds fine, but it doesn't sound good when all the tracks are put together? I'm trying to determine if there might be a problem with your playback settings, or if you're dissatisfied with the mix itself. Second, the vocal is similar in that it doesn't separate itself and come out clear enough Similar to the first question - have you soloed that vocal audio and verified the sound quality is good? A vocal isn't going to automatically "separate" itself in the mix. If there are instruments that are sounding in the same frequency range as the vocal, that overlap will need to be dealt with. And also I am trying to take the reverb down and I'm not getting it done. In the Mixer tab, there is a slider Reverb for adjusting the amount of reverb on each instrument. You'll need to do this on an instrument-by-instrument basis. Finally, the over all sound of the song just isn't professional enough in my opinion. Again, some clarification of what "the overall sound" means to you would be helpful. Are you saying that you don't feel that the quality of the tracks generated by BiaB are professional sounding, or that overall sound of the song is not professional? Please let me know if there is a way that I can attach my song for your evaluation. It's an SGU file that I wanted evaluated if possible. Unfortunately, you can only attach image files to posts. If you've got something like Google Drive, you can put it there, create a public link, and put the link in your post.

Eric, welcome to our forums. All of us here are PG Music users just like you and just like you we've all gone through a learning experience. That's not to say that there are not professional audio engineers, artist and pro musicians here...they are definitely here. But all are willing to help.
First thing for you to do is to post the song you are having issues with. That way we can load the song into our systems and do some analysis so we can give you some advice and recommendations.

It's common to not get good results at first. However, you can get results that are professional with this software. It really helps if we know what you are doing. Once you get used to the software and learn to use it the right way, the results are truly amazing and professional. SO....... You should always post a link to a song example when you ask questions like this. Set up an account with Sound Cloud, Box.com, Soundclick or any other music/file hosting site. Get the "share link" and post it here in your query. Test it to see if it works. Do not use a subscription/membership/log-in required site like Spotify. People don't have the time to do log-in to listen to your song. That way, we can listen to the example and answer your questions in a more accurate manner. the music mix doesn't come out clear and clean enough. Second, the vocal is similar in that it doesn't separate itself and come out clear enough, And also I am trying to take the reverb down and I'm not getting it done. Finally, the over all sound of the song just isn't professional enough in my opinion. There are any number of reasons this might be happening. Post the song in question and we'll have a listen and offer an opinion. EDIT: ALSO, very important.... tell us what other software you are using. Are you strictly using BB or are you using a DAW as well? External mixer or totally "in the box"? Tell us about the soundcard/interface and driver. Describe the microphone and how it's being recorded. Details on the process that got you to this point are helpful.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
