Hi All,

Here's something a bit loose and ragged - this is called LET THE DOGS SLEEP.

I saw you this evening
In a cab on 42nd
Can’t unfollow you
Like a heat seeking weapon
And I do think of us
What’s not ours to keep
Then I bite my lip
And I let the dogs sleep

I laugh when I’m dreaming
I steal and I run
I think of us flying
Like a bullet from a gun
But I know love is fine
And I know love is deep
And I’d fight till I drop
But I let the dogs sleep

Turned on the news
But it makes me antsy
Nobody looks up
When the skies get angry
The political storms
That rage and creep
I don’t care about them
So I let the dogs sleep

When I saw you today
Thought I’d give it a go
Throw you all that wisdom
But I just sounded old
And I’m always awake
When you’re falling asleep
So I guess for tonight
I just let the dogs sleep

I saw you this evening
In a cab on 42nd
Can’t unfollow you
Like a heat seeking weapon
And I do think of us
What’s not ours to keep
Then I bite my lip
And I let the dogs sleep

Ba, Ba, Ba, Ba…

Bob...that was a great acoustic track...really cool concept and imagery...as usual your lyrics excel in the sparse landscape of the acoustic guitars...I always love your tracks!

Hi, Bob.

Love the jangely acoustic guitars, low-end punch of the kick.

Nice story, well sung.

Great work, as usual. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Bob, this is just beautiful. Aside from your typically brilliant write and vocals, love whatever that rhythmic scratching is that comes in at the 1:00 mark, and your scatting near the end. A very rich treat for the ears and soul. Love it!

Haha. Don't poke the bear. Really cool song idea and done as only the song-writing machine can do, Bob. Good hook, and a relatable story well told. Love the scatting fade.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Another great song, Bob. Interesting imagery the heat-seeking missile fixed on a single target with no choice about it. Though some relationships are like anti anti-missile missiles which shoot themselves down! laugh

"...a bit loose and ragged " suits you to a T, Mr. Dean.

Good lyric, vocal, BAND, mix. Of course.
You do THE best album covers (you inspire me)

"Ba, Ba, Ba, Ba…"
Love That.

Ron,

Thanks so much.

At the 1:00 mark that is the Indie Fingerpicking RT run through a vintage guitar amp filter with a slight delay.
