Something dreamy.
And seemingly endless...
A co-write with Mike LeBlanc.

ENDLESS DREAM

the endless dream returns night after night
keeps me stone blue till the mornin's light
the moon tries his best to help me sleep
but visions of you run too deep
this bed's a pool of sorrow where tears cascade
your scent still haunts me from where you laid
and the pillow where you rested your head is so cold
it's not my head but my heart where this endless dream unfolds
endless dream, endless dream

Floyd,

This is some of your best crooning... AMAZING vocal and love the background vocals.

Great reflective lyrics with a strong opening verse. Some really excellent lines.

"the endless dream returns night after night
keeps me stone blue till the mornin's light
the moon tries his best to help me sleep
but visions of you run too deep"

Very beautiful…

The instrumentation and production is pro all the way. And that sax is a perfect fit.

You keep bringing us your very best... Loved it all.

Your vocal is really strong on this one
WOW, what great lyrics
The backing band and mix are so professional; this sounds like it came from a pro studio.
Loved that sax!

"The term “stone blue” itself metaphorically represents a deep sadness and melancholy that permeates every aspect of one’s existence."
That's what the song evokes - lyrically and sonically.
The sax reminds me of Baker Street - smooth adult listening style.
Lovely performances and mixing.

Floyd, this is super nice! Great write, and really strong vocals. Great job getting that sax to slither around to support the song. Love the subtle tension in the BbM7(?) chord against the lyric. Very "dreamy" for sure. Another nice one!

Pretty blue sound you have happening with this one, Floyd! I listened a few times and couldn't resist playing along.

Excellent vocal! And super harmonies. Great write too, love the dream concept. Sax is perfect, it must have taken you a while to accomplish that.

Loved it!

Thanks for the great review, Bob. Mike deserves much of the credit for the lyric. I moved some stuff, tweak stuff and actually dropped another verse, but the bones are his.

Thanks ray.
Bakers Street is always the first thing I think about when adding a sax. So there's that...

When I read the title, I sat for some time wondering how I'd write a song with that title. Then I pushed play to hear how the master did it. Right from that dreamy sax the song builds to an amazing array of musical treats. Lyrics, vocals, and harmonies are superb as expected. I like the electric piano, and those strings take the dream on a glorious tour of the sky and beyond. Good write.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Good song, floyd. You could sing the proverbial phone book and make it sound incredible, but the song is truly excellent, regardless of the voice. Well done, once more.

Okay I had a great idea for a movie while I was listening to this.

So I'm a secret agent who comes back from the 60s and I'm always saying really outrageous sexist things that are extremely offensive to women but I always smile with my big broken yellowish British teeth.

And then one night I take one of those women out for a glass of champagne on top of a big double decker bus in Las Vegas and as we're going down the glittering street I turn around and say: ladies and gentlemen, Mr Floyd Jane.
And then we see Floyd Jane sitting behind a piano with a candelabra singing this song in a plush purple suit, while I dance with the beautiful girl in my tight striped British pants and everyone in Las Vegas is dancing with us on the streets below.

And then after Floyd finishes the song he leans forward and sings:

What the world needs now, is love sweet love, it's the only thing, that there's just too little of...

What do you think? Do I have a chance?

Hi Floyd,

You and Mike aced this one. Although it's a treat, it's no surprise. You gentlemen always deliver the goods.

I really like this softer side of your music. And yeah ... Baker Street. It's all over this one. That sax is just so mellow. Strong yet fairly soft delivery of the vocal. This is my kind of music! And yep - very pro. You give music a good name.

Best to you,

Alan

A little night music with a soft melody. The heart's longing in the lyrics comes through in the vocal. Well done!

Floyd,

Your usual stellar outing . . . a little different vibe to it, but those familiar, and quite excellent, vocals pull you in. Pro production . . . sexy, moody sax that sits right were it should.
Wonderful in all respects!!
