I’ve been unable to use bar settings in my newly installed Mac 2024. Any thoughts?

Bar Settings have changed for 2024 and are now accessed with the F5 key. This is detailed in the BIAB 2024 for Mac User Guide

I don’t have a problem opening the bar settings dialogue box but I can’t apply.
It does work, in a fashion. I can enter a change and hit apply and without closing the box, I play the track and most of the time the change has been applied. Then I close the box. It’s a work around but not the way it should be.

When you say 'most of the time', what are the times that it doesn't work, and is that repeatable?

I had one case where a tempo change didn't function and another where muting a track didn't work. But in any case when I hit apply there is no response. It should close the window when I choose apply (and there now places to "apply"). Fortunately because floating windows now allow me to continue it could work just by leaving the window and going back, But that gets complicated if there are multiple bar settings.

I had one case where a tempo change didn't function and another where muting a track didn't work. But in any case when I hit apply there is no response. It should close the window when I choose apply (and there now places to "apply"). Fortunately because floating windows now allow me to continue it could work just by leaving the window and going back, But that gets complicated if there are multiple bar settings. The new floating windows are designed to stay open until you close them - clicking Apply no longer closes any of these windows. This is intentional to allow users to continue working within a window without having to constantly re-open them. Your issue with bar settings not playing back properly in the song is a different issue. Are the tracks frozen? If so, unfreeze them so they can regenerate.

The only thing I would suggest re: floating window is that the apply button should change (turn gray) after making the change
|

Simon and Andrew, i noticed yesterday that on one of the demo songs with backing vocals RTs the bar setting did not mute them. i will test later and post back Check to see if the tracks are frozen - most likely this is the case, and what is stopping Bar Settings from working. It may also be that there's an "ALL Instruments" change that's overriding it.

I will check that but the issue was that it was a demo song and i did not change any bar settings except the tracks that had the vocals on them, and unfroze everything. Let me do some more poking around before you chase ghosts in the machine.
