Firstly, how is the directory containing the songs ordered?

Secondly, are the names of the first 5 songs in the directory? (Knowing this might provide a clue as to how Juke Box is making its decisions.)

The directory is off board on E drive, but it has been sorted by name, and the 15 or so songs only have an alphabetical letter, i.e. no numbers etc... I busk and need it to just play in order. Now it starts 3 songs out and then backs up 2 songs. BTW Thanks, i really need to find out what I am doing wrong, I have an audition next month.

What version of BIAB are you using (what build number)?
I think that there was a problem earlier (a couple of years ago) where sometimes the songs didn't play in the correct/expected order, but I think that was resolved.

As a thought, try renaming the songs to start with a number, such as
1_MyFirstSong
2_MyNextSong
3_MyNextSong
4_etc

Donny,

Just to clarify...

1) Do you run Windows or Mac BIAB?

2) Has Jukebox worked correctly for you in the past at any time? If it did, are you aware when it changed? (For example, was it a consequence of an update?)

Regards,
--Noel

P.S. To find the installed version and build of BIAB (as Audiotrack mentions), have a look at "Help | About BIAB".

Hey hey, I am using the 64 Bit Build 1113, version 1.0.78 in Windows. I found the glitch. So, yes, I have used Jukebox on a daily basis as I am a busker. It worked just fine for a year or so. I need to put together a lounge set for an upcoming audition at a German restaurant. So, I decided to use the SSD off board hard drive to load the directory. Wrong, it doesn't play them in chronological order when the files are stored off board. So, I copied the files back over to C drive in the laptop, then I tried Jukebox and Walla it works fine. Thank you for your help.

Great that you got it to work OK, It certainly sounds like an unusual situation(!)

Please consider to open your original post and mark it as [Resolved] (there's a button for that). This can help others in the future who might come across the same issue.

Well, you are partially correct, I found a problem that isn't working correctly. I found a temporary solution, but the bug still exists, so when the pro team at BIAB gets it fixed I will mark it resolved, ok? I made a work around not a bug fix. Have a great day.

Donny,

I'm glad you got it working. This sounds more like a Windows setting rather than something in BIAB. Did you check that the directory on you C drive and your SSD are sorted by the same category? For example, it sounds like your C drive is sorted by name and your SSD drive might be sorted by something different (maybe "Date Modified").

Hey hey, I just checked your assuption and went into the C directory and sorted by descending order. Then played the Jukebox, BIAB, always does ascending order, no matter what sort. So... Anyway, no big deal to me. I am ready for audition. I am sure BIAB Programmers are working on it. Thanks for your help.

Donny, when you mentioned 'ascending order', I presume that you are referring to the song name and not the song file date, etc?

OK, I'll try it if I get a chance. I'm working remotely from a small laptop at present. My resources are quite limited.
