I really like that. Great lyrics. And well sung.
Probably on the top 5 list of the songs you've written that I've heard.
I enjoyed it. Listened twice. First time straight out of the box and the second one reading along. The lyrics are well written.

Dewey, super song! Big melody, deep hooks, killer vocals (love the falsetto swoop at the end) and a relatable theme. My favorite songs are fun to sing along with, and this is certainly that. Preferably while watching a sunset with a cold beverage. Just a great piece of songcraft, and I really enjoyed it a LOT!

Nice one Dewey.
Not keen on the plodding drum pattern in the verses. You might want to try a less busy one for that.
Just my opinion though. I could be wrong.

That's a great song, period! If I may make a suggestion anyway... I would elevate every "There's no Magic in Mexico" part, by singing it in harmony, and also inserting a quick lick with a nylon string guitar right after. Make it sound more mexican.

Dewey, there may be no magic in Mexico but there is a ton of magic in this song.
Super vocal and lyrics with just the perfect amount of lead guitar in the supporting roll.
Outstanding mix
One of your best for sure.

I'm a huge fan, Dewey, and this is FANtastic. Excellent lyrics with a catchy hook. Really good production, and your vocal sings it all with feeling. A radio worthy write for sure.

I fully understand why. I've had a record contract with EMI for several years and have around 50 tunes (C) registered world wide. The rules are very strict.
I began in 1970 with a 7 piece dance band. I had other bands, but my most successful one was "The four Windows", a 4 piece guitar band. Many concerts, TV shows, Record contract with EMI and a guitar hit in 1982 in Europe with my "Lonely Seagull".

The excellent write and vocals set a high bar from the get go.
