Yeah, this was a funny thread until the one about tweaking the bypassed plugin. That hit WAY too close to home...

Even closer: use BIAB -> F8 -> Generate New for the umpteenth time to get a better take, until you realize that the pre-selected track is not the one you want to change.

My technique with plugins is turn on Bypass, adjust the plugin controls until I hear a difference, then back off by half. laugh

When I was playing live, and one of the band members or the sound guy would say I was too loud..... I'd go to the amp, act like I was adjusting the volume, but I had already turned the guitar volume knob down..... strum a chord and ask if that was better, they'd say YES, and I'd go right on and turn the guitar back up and they'd give me a thumbs up! Mission accomplished.

Bud

Set a metal folding chair beside the snare drum and place an SM57 right on top of the seat <grin>
.. or use a tight piccolo snare.

Hahaha. My snare drum resides in the selected RealDrum’s audio file that includes the component hits. I copy the snare hit and double it using Logic Pro’s groove track. Takes only a very few minutes. Then I begin the Aronoff fx hunt. Lately I’ve found that waves Magma BB Tubes and Logic’s new Chromaglow fx get me close. With snare doubling prn and comping fills here and there I’ve been a happy user of RD’s for years.
