I loaded a style (_TBSW164) and the corresponding demo project in the style picker. I then made some changes to the project and accidentally saved it back to the original name. Now I have lost the original "_TBSW164 Demo (Country, Nashville TeenBeat with Piano).SGU" file. Is there any way to get back the original SGU file that goes with the WMA file? Or would I have to reinstall BIAB?

Can you copy it off your original PGMusic disk still?
Or is that where you overwrote it?

Or is that where you overwrote it? Ouch! If that is the case, you should be able to download again from the PGM website.

Thank you both so much for your replies! I found the original "_TBSW164 Demo (Country, Nashville TeenBeat with Piano).SGU" on a backup drive and I copied over the bad one that I created. Now when I select "Load demo song(s) for the current style" it doesn't load anything. I can load the SGU file manually but the "Load demo song..." doesn't work for that song only. I've tried other nearby styles and they all work but that style refuses to load any demo song at all. It just keeps whatever song is currently loaded. No error message. Is there a database somewhere that is missing the data for a field? How does BIAB determine which song to load when you click on "Load demo song..." ?

Ok, so I rebuilt the database and everything works well now. Thanks again!!! Close it out.

Edit your original post and maybe add [resolved] to the title. There's a button you can press to mark is 'Resolved'.

I have one question. Did you get a warning that you were overwriting the file?
If not that is a major problem and should be corrected ASAP.
PS - I don't know as I have never done this in BiaB.
I'm in a fitness protection program. I'm been hiding from exercise.

I would have thought that such files would be read-only. As far as I can tell, making such files read-only would be difficult as it's not an industry standard - this means that installers don't have easy ways to set read-only status, meaning we'd have to write a post-install script to do it, also meaning that we'd also have to make a pre-install script to remove read-only status so that the files could be overwritten with the updated files - both scripts would drastically increase install speed and complexity as there are hundreds of thousands of files. The good news here is what AudioTrack mentioned: if you do lose an original file, PG Music can supply it. So can other forum fellow users. Yup, easy peasy. If it's a single small file it's easy enough for one of us to email the file, or if it's a large file or a large group of files then we can point towards which installer it's in.
