Hi Music Lovers,

I've been sufficiently tortured by this song for awhile and now I think it has finally come to its conclusion thanks to happy accidents, as Bob Ross might say.

Style is _HOLY.STY (Holy Praise and Worship Band)

RealDrums in style:PraiseWorshipPowerPush^2-a:Quarter Kick , b:Snare, Kick
Nature Sound Loops: mockingbird and birds chirping

Lyrics:

Why are you fading away again
Drifting out the window and far away
You’ve gotta get outta this place
Gotta hide your face

Do you really think no one can see
Each time you fly away
What good can you do when
You’re so far away

Be here
Be here now
Stay present, unfurrow that brow
Why not just follow your breath
In and Out. . .and just
Be here now

Whatever it is you’re afraid of,
Do you think it’s bigger than love
It’s just the wind blowing and yet
You’re so close to going

How artfully you drift away
Making talk as if you’d stayed
What is your problem with being here
Let go of your fear

Original chording credits to Matthew Blank

All comments happily received. Thanks for listening.

Beth,

That's a good song and an excellent vocal. Great lyrics. I really like the production. Nice mix and a good selection of tracks.

Happy accidents are the best. Really love the harmonic movements you're using, and the tasteful use of rests, holds and shots (or however you are achieving that). Gives the whole song a cool, lurching cadence that I like a lot but don't hear a lot of with BiaB tunes. Melancholy lyrics, but sung with a brightness that reveals the strength of the narrator. That's a cool effect. Very sparkly mix, too. You're really doing some marvelous, advance level stuff here. Great listen!

Be Here Now was the last/final decent Oasis LP.

A nice, light arrangement that carries the vocal really well though the bass, to me, sounds wrong ...almost a keyboard sample bass line.

Cheers

Thank you, Ron. I appreciate your kind words. I was afraid the vocals were too "sparkly". Maybe not?

Thanks, Ray. I'm going to play around with some different bass tracks now...in fact just have done. And you were right. It's done wonders!

Thank you, Carl.

Thanks to BIAB, I've found the perfect answer to the non-existent real band issue: and with no drama, no aesthetic arguments, no need to lug equipment, etc. etc. grin

Nice one.
Not sure but the strumming may be a tad heavy for the vocal and song.
Everything else sounds right to my ears.

"sufficiently tortured" huh? I listened a couple time but never heard the screams. So glad you embraced the suck, and came out with a gem, Beth. I like the way it builds, especailly the bass. Very cool. Engaging lyrics --with questions for the listener. Love the harmony, and the dynamics you've added. Not sure where the tortured parts are, but they didn't kill ya and they made the song stronger. A special non to Matthew if he helped heal the pain.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Bonjour
C'est bien ce que tu fais et tu chantes bien. On entend pas trop la batterie mais c'est peut être un choix de mixage.

Merci, Laurent. Ce n'était pas un choix intentionnel. Il faut que je réécoute !

We enjoyed the entire production and especially the theme.

"Be here
Be here now
Stay present, unfurrow that brow
Why not just follow your breath
In and Out. . .and just
Be here now"

So wonderful when accomplished and sadly ignored by so many.
We appreciate the reminder!

Well done,

J&B

I like the song and performance. Your voice reminds me of the some of the big singing stars from the 60s.
