Even the "The minimal mode's Custom tab " does not allow me to rename the tab, and does not allow me to create more than 1.
Also is would be nice if I could move the toolbar to where I want, floating would be good if it could stay where I put it.

I would just like to see, users be able to customize (hide/show, move and pin windows, create toolbars) BiaB to their needs

Robert,
I requested "modular" approach for quite some time. Recent 2024 BIAB introduced many floating (non modal / non jailed) windows that let you work on the project, make changes in views (Chords, track, Audio) and on actual floating tool windows without the need of closing them. In my humble opinion, the time is perfect to tune up GUI and modular is the way to go, as you can cook your own interface (or use a factory default). In any case, this could be an interesting discussion. Please use Jim's link and start a thread. I will definitely support your particular request or something broader.

WOW, what an incredible response.

We are nearly there with this years release and I am hoping it's Not just a pile of Real Tracks again., plus a few features. I was enthralled at the efforts made by Steinberg in v14 and Sequoia Pro is amazing. I've tinkered with AI music but it has a long, long way to go.

What will impress me is more attention to Midi and an improved Melody maker with a lot more choice. More attention to emotive tracks and some new Soloists that are not Jazz influenced for once. Counterpoint in Strings sections with more emotive expression, not just bland. This would convince me to stay with the one piece of software I have been with since floppy disks.

Seasons Greetings to all.

We should see something new soon, right? This is my first year back after many years away and I didn't really follow the update schedule before that.

It looks like last year there was an announcement around December 5th. The year before that it was November 30th, and the year before that it was December 2nd. I think those were also in the Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday range.

Added: the year before that was November 28th, so we're already on the late side of the range in the past 4 years.

I just wonder why they don't publish the release date like most other companies do ..... so people know.

If history repeats itself, we won't have long to wait. Probably soon is my guess.

Does anyone know if there is a list of which bugs that have been fixed in the 2025 release. I can't find any.

In patches during during the year there is often a list with the issues/bugs etc that have been fixed.
I wonder if it is a similar list available for the major 2025 BIAB release.

Now that is a very good question. To my knowledge, the answer has always been No, and is No now. The new features are documented with new releases, but the bug fixes are not. Someone tell me if I'm wrong here. In the process of beta testing, some of these issues have been raised and addressed, but you'll just have to test and report again in separate threads if a problem persists.

Well it's here and my only reaction so far, to be as polite as possible, is .... mmmmm.
Firstly, I did suggest the team would be looking at some form of AI. Lyrics assistance is all over the web and all are useless bar one, which I found particularly good for assisting with sonnets, (iambic pentameter). Definitely don't see the point in what BB has offered.
The stem separator may be useful for some but I haven't used it and don't intend to. I own Steinberg's Spectral Layers Pro and Hit n Mix's RipX, which are both excellent.
My biggest bug is the onslaught and barrage of all the new Style Tracks. We are already into the thousands, this makes it a complete drudge looking for something.
Mostly disappointed with the lack of improvement to the Melodists. It definitely requires improving. I also like the challenge with Midi but, precious little again.
All I can say is, if you like Real Tracks galore and can handle the myriad of choice, albeit bereft of anything that is going to inspire then ....... ENJOY.

Same here but ... lots of us did ask for fewer new features and more cleaning up and fixing of old issues, so I have my fingers crossed that that's what we'll find.

Same here unfortunately. I was unlikely to bother upgrading this year after the mess that was 2024, but this turns out to be even more underwhelming than I anticipated.
It's a shame because I want the software to improve but they just continue to add to the mess instead of doing the opposite.

Nothing for me either in BIAB 2025.

Stem separation with time mapping I do much better outside BIAB but I understand that some users might want this in BIAB (I have just tested it in BIAB and dropped it, will not return).

I am not at all interested in AI lyrics or similar.

I got 200 new real tracks of which many sounds really good - but I will probably not have any use for them - since I will not be able search for them or find them when need to.

I had only one whish " an improved search concept" for all content.
It has not been adressed at all (exception some improvements for midi search).
It is still the same impossible filter search as before (not to mention the title search).

Regarding bugs there is no way to know since there is no list available what have or have not been fixed.

UI I have not seen any difference of matter, eg the UI for the track view still has no cursor over the tracks.
.. and so on.

(I don't think much of what has been discussed here on the forum during 2024 has been addressed at all).

I'm in the same position as you but I'm trying to understand: did you buy it anyway?

Yes I bought it.
(PlusPak $99+VAT25%.)
I thought there must be something in there (but I think I was wrong but I have not checked everything yet).

I bought it and am sad to say, I too am somewhat disappointed.
It seems they've added two "AI Features" just to be able to say they've added "AI".
Unfortunately, what they added "Stems and Lyrics"... were already easily available from third parties and to me at least, not necessary.

I was hoping for some added useful features unique to BIAB, like the long hoped for VST3 support (now included).
Or, adding some of the Audio view features (Like Volume Autotomation) to the Tracks View,
so you can see and work on multiple tracks at once.
Or... using AI to make more intelligent style selection under song picker.

I'm still am glad I did buy it, to to support PGMusic hoping they will be around for years to come.

I agree with you.
Improving the realtrack search function is the most important.
For example, drag and drop an audio. It can recommend many realtracks that match the music.

There are also better recommended chord progressions, etc.

These are the most important.
