Long Gone

This is a song about an old flame. She discovered that I was basically a wastrel and a misfit and so had the good sense to dump me.
I guess she didn't want to become "dizzy miss Izzy".
So Millicent (Millie), in the off chance that you just happen to be reading this PG Music forum, this song is for you babe. grin

Izzy, super song! Nice band, strong vocals and harmonies, catchy melody. I like it! Hope Millie hears it. smile

Has a Nick Lowe vibe to my ears, without Nick's snarkiness. But what would Nick be without snark?

Izzy,

This is really well done.
A good brokenhearted write.
And sung with conviction - and longing.
Love those BGVs.
An excellent BAND. Has a perfect "loose cohesiveness" - like The Dead or The Band - the best of the 70's jam bands...

Very enjoyable listen.
Millie should be proud. Hope she hears it.

COOL stuff - a few sibilant sounds and some lip smacking sorts that could be tamed but not biggie.
I's have liked the intro & break down pianos spread across the stereo image but that's a not.

Cheers

Sweet pop song Izzy and you remind me a bit of Graham Nash. A wee bit of de-essing and/or a pop filter before your mic could add polish.

Thanks again.

Good lyric - we love the chorus and wish Millie could hear the song.

The vocal reminds us of Stephen Stills - which is good - and excellent harmonies too.
Great group of session guys and the drums were stand out as was the arrangement.

Enjoyed it!

I think we can all agree that a broken heart is like stepping on broken glass—painful and a little ridiculous!
Millicent provided a valuable life lesson, namely "S#*@ happens, build a bridge and get over it"
Who knew heartbreak could come with construction tips? And the bonus is that she provided an idea for a song!

Thank you Janice and Bud for your kind words. I always enjoy reading your replys (to all, not just me). I admire your ability to write concise, analytical, encouraging and often humorous gems of wisdom which are both informative and entertaining. Y'all would make great journalists.

When I run for President (I represent the Free Beer Party) I want to hire the firm 'Janice & Bud Inc.' as my speech writers!. grin
My best regards to you both.
Izzy.

I had a good chuckle at your song's backstory.
I was reminded a bit of Ray Davies.
Catchy chorus. Clever arrangement and all around good production.
