I understand you, Gause.
Yes, I don’t like to use too many tracks in my songs. I prefer them stripped down to the essentials.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Nice song Vic. Very Waylon-esque!

Vic, outlaw country at its best!
Waylon would have loved this one.
The mix is spot on.
Outstanding backing band.
One of if not your best to date.

PS - You should do more outlaw country you are great at it.

OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

Hi Vic,

The first thing that came to mind - almost immediately was: What a terrific Waylon Jennings sound. In my book, that's a pretty good place to be.

Great lyric
Great arrangement
Great vocal presentation
Loved the slide guitar on the lead break and fills

Very nicely done - one of my favorites by you.

Alan

Typically country. Good use of rhythm and wow, the dobro guitar sounds great! It sounds as it should, just perfect and authentic.

Good song, I like the lyrics and the way you deliver them.
There are no major problems with the mix, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I've been using Cubase for years because for how my brain is wired it's perfect and I get results quickly and easily.
But changing software in general is always difficult during the first few weeks.
A little tip: I work 95% of the time with Cubase's own plugins, they really cover (almost) everything you need and are very easy on the computer.

That’s a great band and we like the lyric a lot.
Add to that the good vocals, mix and arrangement.

We agree with others on the Waylon vibe … definitely there.

Sounds like all is good with the new DAW.
We've used the same one for 14 years. Hard to imagine changing.

Good one!

Oh heck yeah Vic! I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this one, but sure glad I did. The writing itself stands out - good song. Your vocal presentation fits the music very well. I'm a sucker for that Waylon sound and you hit it perfectly here. I've always been a big fan of his music and yours, so this one just couldn't miss! Great mix. If it were me I may have ended the dobro a bit differently, but gosh this is good.
