Bob an Me 11/3/2024

BobH came over Sunday and started to play. I grabbed my Tascam DR-05 and started to record him. I grabbed my guitar and jammed along. The jam evolved into this. This is the first and only take. We made this up as we went along. The recording of the guitars is not pristine and there are a few warts in this but I thought it was good enough to post.

Later I added the drums, bass, and EP.
Drums are from BiaB style - Rockblu.stry - Rock Blues - Gritty Medium - slow - Sound - SSD5 - Jazz Brushes
Bass - SuperMIDItrack 3116:bass - sound = Ample upright bass
Piano -SuperMIDItrack 4376 Synth Pad - sound - Lounge Lizard - Custom EPs - 12 Bold Display 1

I hope you like it for what it is and as always all comments are welcomed.

PS - The tempo mapping from an audio file in Studio One Pro 7 is outstanding. It has correctly generated a perfect tempo map for every song I have tried. Much better than Melodyne.

Nothin' better than a couple of friends making music.
And cool that we have tools that let us capture it and enhance it.

Mario,

Love it! You did an excellent job of blending the Tascam track with the BIAB tracks. Seamless mix!

That was a very interesting listen Mario, and I sure appreciate you recording and posting it. It's kind of like you invited us right into your music room to listen as you just jam around with a good friend. You know what? I like it there! Keep 'em coming.

Geez, this is SO cool. Would never have guessed this originated the way you describe. Love the musical ideas you guys are throwing out there, and the way you caught them in a BiaB net is...well, pretty perfect. Super job!

Cool. I check here every Monday hoping to learn you and Bob got together the day before. So late this week, but this one makes my Thursday even better now. I love spontaneous music and guys are fun with it, Mario.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Mario & Bob

It's as though I'm sitting right there between the two of you and enjoying the event live. Just on the edge of ethereal and so soothing. This is kickback and close your eyes music. Thanks for letting the rest of us enjoy it!

Take care,

Alan

Marty thanx for this kind review. Bob and I get together every Sunday. Sometimes we record and it just sucks, sometime not. But most of the time it is to have a pint or two and either talk or watch youtube whistle

Great that you captured the spontaneity of the get together.
Nice and moody in the good way.

Nothing wrong with a few jam warts - goes with the territory!

Enjoyed it!

Excellent Mario. Very cool jam. I haven't made the leap to Studio 7 yet. There are a few cool features but not ready to jump yet. Song was really well done

Thanx Scott. That tempo detection is the best I have ever used, including Melodyne. That was the main reason I upgraded and it was well worth it. I have used it about five times and have yet to make any adjustments to the extracted tempo.
