Would like very much for BIAB to adopt chord progression library tool similar to my crude concept.

Dynamically updating sequences based on Key & Major/Minor. Double clicking would play sequence with simple piano or such. A copy button would copy sequence to be pasted anywhere on Chord Sheet. Favorites.

Just to clarify, are you aware of the Window, Chord Builder, Chord Builder (no, I'm not stuttering), Progression Builder function? Then Edit, Chord Options, Chord Substitution? This would modify or replace that?

Matt,
I am aware of these. I tried using BIAB chord tool, but got frustrated for multiple reasons, which probably would be boring to list here.

"This would modify or replace that?"

That is a tricky question. Meaning, if the whole tool is re-designed then probably my request would be an addition. I doubt this will happen any time soon if ever. My request is for a much simpler tool. A reference library of lets say around 2,000 chord progressions.... (50-75 unique progressions X keys) with audition, copy and Favorite options.

I've done a bit of homework. Unfortunately there no straight forward alternatives in a form of VST. Why VST? So it could share same audio resource (for auditioning) with BIAB without opening one software and closing the other.

These are the closest "cousins":
Scaler - is more of a creative chord "sets" based on specific progressions and voicings - not really a reference library.
Odesi (Mixed in key) - Has to be connected to internet to work full time - YOU are the product.
"Chord Progression Reference" - Excellent and useful app - but only on Android.
1500 popular chord progressions by Walter-Stuart.(1950s e-book version) Very good reference, but you can't "audition" smile
1908 The Most Popular Chord Progressions 2023 physical book by Piotr Tadrzynski. Very similar to ^ .Nice paper book reference. Again, no audition for obvious reasons.

Thanks for explaining. I understand a little better so perhaps you will get more support.

This is a great suggestion.

BIAB itself is a music automation software with chord progression as its core. However, it lacks the functional content of chord progression. I strongly support this idea.

Matt asked if I was suggesting this as an add on to Chord Builder, which provoked one idea.
I think it would make a lot of sense to incorporate such progression tool into Song menu. While I don't personally use BIAB for cover songs, sometimes I would open a pre-made song to learn how it was constructed.

Ideally this progression tool can be done such way, so user can optionally "connect" it to existing BIAB song library and it would populate a list of songs that share / based on progression you choose.

<< A reference library of lets say around 2,000 chord progressions.... (50-75 unique progressions X keys) with audition, copy and Favorite options. >>

Plus one for the concept.

Suggestion that someone may want to experiment with to broaden the concept:

Conceptually, a progression X 12 keys with audition, copy, and save favorite option can be done using SGU song files.

Using the example provided in the initial post for Progression and Chords, an SGU file can contain
51 rows of 5 chords input on the Chord Chart the same as that example.

Open a Progression SGU song and a blank BIAB Chord Chart

Highlight the desired progression from the song SGU and paste to the blank
BIAB Chord Chart and saved in the Favorite Folder

The progression can be auditioned from the BIAB Chord Chart and play the sequence with midi piano, any instrument or Style. The copy sequence can be pasted anywhere on Chord Sheet.
