Please press PLAY Dear Forum Folk Is this a Blues song? I find myself in a nomenclature no mans land because R&T uses six chords. Is that too many for blues cred? It started out as a respectable two chord "woe is me" aria but the chords kept coming so methinks perhaps I should rename it "The rabbit song hopalong" so as not to offend any blues purists. Or maybe it's a case of meh!, who cares. But whilst it may be the black sheep of the blues family, it does contain one time honoured blues tradition........I wrote it when I was drunk! Anyways, I always very much appreciate those who generously give their time to listen and comment - good or bad. Time sig 12/8 tempo 88 chords used F#m E A Bm C# D lyrics on SC As always , thanks to BIAB Style is _BLZ12PA.STY 533:Bass, Electric, 12-8 Crystal Sw 065 1926:Guitar, Electric, Soloist 1924:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm 1923 Guitar Electric 565 Guitar Electric 675 B3 Organ 571 Harmonica Piano - friend (EZKeys lacked the dynamics i wanted.) Addictive Drums (started with them and was too lazy to replace with the excellent BB Drums.)

Hi, Izzy. Is it blues? Hard to say, it's not like the song literally references "the blues"... Like a broken symphony These blues got a hold on meIt's blues! Sounds good. If you want more analysis than that, I'm not the person who can do that. After all, the blues are just an excuse to play solo guitar, right?

Izzy, like this a lot. Cool progression, nice band and super vocals/harmonies. Is is blues? Hmmm. Think "blues" is like jazz, rock, country, etc in that the net is very wide indeed. So...YES, this is the blues. For a lot of reasons, but mainly because the lyrics say so. And so it is...

Blues inflected I suppose as the vocal style doesn't really cry blues. Definitely a contender for an old style RnB track if another voice performed it. I like it.

Love it, Izzy!! To me, every song comes from the Blues. There are no rules, but, yes, Blues Rules. Six chords are sometimes required to get it all out in song. Many Blues songs were written when the writer was drunk --sometimes it's required. Just curious, was it about a quarter to three? (Esoteric joke there ) I listened a couple times so far and, man, you got the Blues for sure. Love the changes and the melody, and of course the vocal is filled with blue emotion. Excellent production.

I liked it a lot Izzy. I'm not a specialist on the blues, but that's what I would call it. Regardless of what others call it, I call it good stuff man. Great use of that lead guitar!

That is assuredly Blues Rock - a genre we've followed for decades.
The band sounds great and that’s a very good solo guitar.
Good vocals. They reminded Janice of a Paul McCartney Joe Walsh mashup!
Nice mix also.
Enjoyed it!
