Original tune - I dug out my 'Sugartone' lap steel guitar, found BB Style: 'Sweetie Country Ballad',
I used the existing chords and added some of my own, also added wurly and Hammond!

Wow, Carl, you've got a really nice touch on that Sugartone. Very slithery and sweet. Like your composition and the backing band, and that mix is pristine, too.

I have a 1948 Harmony lap steel but no discernable talent for it. So I'm at once inspired, delighted and dejected by your track.

Ha! Really...I love this!

Carl, you are a master of many instruments, an outstanding musician.
You made that lap steel talk!
Those backing tracks fit perfectly - brilliant job

Doc-take it easy John this is just a sharp scalpel. It will not cut deep so don't worry.

Hi, Carl.

I always look forward to hearing your guitar instrumentals.

Easy going, tuneful waltz - everything sounds great here.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Glad I reawakened your lap steel interest Ron - I haven't played 'horizontal slide' for a good while,
only occasional acoustic slide guitar. It feels very different to play lap style and I was struggling
to control pitch, timing & vol pedal all at once - very pleased you thought it was acceptable!!

Super pleased you liked my tune, thank you Ron!

Cheers, Carl

Mario - thanks a lot for your lovely comments!!
I haven't played horizontal lap slide for some time -
was struggling a bit but will keep practising to improve
the pitch, timing & volume pedal control, tough for old
brains and fingers!
Glad it talked to you,

Cheers, Carl

Very, very nice Carl. You've got a great touch for both playing and producing. They found a perfect match here on this one. I really like the sound you got on this. My dad is a pedal steel guitar guy, and I love that instrument. I've sat down at it from time to time, just long enought to know I'll never be any good at it, but I know what you mean about that volume pedal! That's always been difficult for me. You've developed a nice smooth sound here. Thought it was great.

Very many thanks Brad - really pleased you liked my lap steel tune,
mine is just a plank of wood with 6 strings and a pick up mounted on top (no pedals apart from the volume pedal).
Yes it's a challenge for old brains & fingers - glad you approved, grateful for your very nice comments!

Cheers, Carl
