Nice job.... Those "vacations" are great opportunities to focus on musical things.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Man, Floyd, you sure know how to start a story to grab the readers attention. You do that with your songs, too.
Hey, noodling is often the best part of a good soup. Those rabbit holes you mention are probably important, especially as your blisters develop. hehe Left brain stuff is for learning how to do it right, while that wild and crazy right-brain guy in us who imagines playing in front of thousands of screaming fans is the drive that stifles that boredom.

When I hopped over to your sock dance I could hear the passion in the blisters. Dang, if you didn't say anything, I'd say you've been playing for years, and those are hardened callouses we hear. I REALLY like your taste, but that's certainly no surprise becuase of all the other evidence you've given us. As Dave mentioned, those bends are so good they say, "I've been playing guitar since I was 3."

Gotta learn those little marketing ploys. smile
I was a bit concerned I might sound like a hack. Thanks for alleviating those fears smile smile smile smile
I have been playing almost since I was 3. But the first 65 years, I sucked.

You sound like you were born playing lead with bits of Santana and many others haunting the fingers.
There was plenty to hod attention in the flow...much more cohesive than most BIAB soloist instrumentals.
My 1st thought was to wonder if I could get you to play lead o a song for me.
Everything fine is resource in my greedy head.

Truly appreciate those thoughts.
Give me a bit more time...and we'll talk smile

A very impressive first instrumental post.

PS - You can take one minor pentatonic pattern and play the same pattern up 2 frets and/or up 7 frets and it will work, i.e. sound OK. Be moving the pattern you are adding different extensions to the chord.

Much appreciated, Mario.

Deliberately taken out of context, hehehe.
Your wife will hate me smile

About the song, I fully agree with what Dave said (he is a guitarist after all): It's all about the feel and the notes you don't play.
All very tasteful.
More!

Thanks, BD

I feel like I got a decent report card from the guitar guys...

Happy feet dancing all over the house!!

The nice chops, tone and bending resulted in a soulful and happy jam.

We enjoyed the write up and the well mixed band.

Your “rabbit hole” adventure is a success mr jane!

Sounds good, Floyd. Much better than me. I just play rhythm, and I don't think I do that well much anymore. Anyway, I enjoyed your soloing.

Great jam Floyd. I like Tim Pierce a lot as well. I know he's been around for years, but I only recently discovered him. Any chance of you sharing where to find that video you were watching that inspired this? Also I was wondering if you were playing through a processor, pedals or added the effects after they were recorded? It's a great sound. I like the lead you put over the backing track. Not so many notes it becomes confusing, but enough to keep you interested and wondering what's coming up next. Glad you gave it a try and looking forward to hearing more of your guitar work!

Hi floyd.

This is great listening. It's hard to believe that it's your first-ever instrumental. The music flows so effortlessly and sounds so polished. While I don't know too much about guitars, I do know a bit about good music and I'm thoroughly enjoying your playing. In addition, the backing you have created is superb. You really have a well-honed knack for fine production. I'm really impressed with what I'm hearing.
