I have been really frustrated by the lack of a simple easy method of controlling the melody instruments and solo instruments. I use BIAB a lot to practice with. I would like a very simple way to set up the melody and solos per chorus. like if I have 4 choruses I would like to easily set the melody instrument to play the melody for chorus 1 and 4. then set the soloist to play chorus 2, then nothing on chorus 3 so I can solo. I have seen all kinds of hacky ways to do this but frankly there should just be a super simple easy way to do this and it should not be that hard to add this functionality. if anyone has any insight on how to do this easily i would be interested to hear. Making a medley style seems very complex and time consuming when I am practicing 100s of tunes......

In your example of 4 choruses: Set the number of Choruses to 4
Melody set up: 1) Load the melody instrument on your preferred track. This can be an instrument or a Melodist track generated by the Melodist feature. In my test, I used the Melodist feature and loaded onto the Melody Track. 2) Open Bar Settings: Change the Chorus# selection from All Choruses to Chorus #2 3) Mute the Melody Track (or whichever trach you are using for the Melody) 4) Change the Chorus selection from Chorus #2 to Chorus#4 5) Return the Melody Track to normal.
The Melody should play through chorus #1 mute for Choruses 2 and 3 and play on Chorus #4
Soloist Set up: 1) Load the Soloist instrument on your preferred track. This can be an instrument or a Soloist track generated by the Soloist feature. In my test, I used the Soloist feature and loaded onto the Solo Track. 2) Open Bar Settings: Change the Chorus# selection from All Choruses to Chorus #1 3) Mute the Soloist Track (or whichever trach you are using for the Soloist) 4) Change the Chorus selection from Chorus #1 to Chorus#2 5) Return the Return the Soloist Track to normal. 6) Change the Chorus selection from Chorus #2 to Chorus#3 7) Mute the Soloist Track
The Soloist should be muted through Chorus#1, play through Chorus#2 and be muted for Choruses#3 and#4
Neither the Melody or Soloist should play on Chorus#3

Charlie THANKS! this works for me for now does exactly what I want. though i still think it would be nice to have a easy very specific wizard or dialog box for this. or at least put this information in the manual or a FAQ because it took me several weeks of struggling with this and searching before making this post to get the answer. unless I totally missed it. thanks again david

It would be really nice if there was an easier way to set up melodies and solos by chorus. Have you considered twisting the “Soloist” and “Melody” track buttons to try to select the settings for each choral? In some circumstances, it might be useful it’s not ideal but it may still be helpful. That said I fully comprehend it should be less complicated and less of a bother especially if you are practicing most of the tunes.
