Hi y'all.

I know BiaB now uses .stx files instead of the old .ls3 files to get user style data into the Style Picker window.

I'm startig a new style disk, and I'm thinking about not including the .ls3 and going .stx only, instead of both.

I'd like to know what year the .stx files began, so when I eventually advertise I can say what the oldest version of BiaB these will work on,

Does anybody know, what year the .stx files were introduced?

Thanks,

FWIW, the oldest .stx on my installation is 21 November 2011, suggesting to me that it may have been the 2012 release.
Of course that's purely my supposition based on just the file date.

Thanks.

So I would probably be very safe if I said for 2012 and newer.

If someone has the exact date, I'd appreciate it.

I'd just use whatever the version number was for that year's release .. as opposed to a date.

I agree. I think that would be a neater arrangement.

I wonder what that number was. Although I might use both to cover both bases.

I dug out an old 2012.5 version, one of the old that still works, and it has no provisions to make an .stx file. I plan to drop one in, to see if it accepts them, but other priorities got in the way.

We have 3 new clients with private parties coming up, and I need to learn and create backing tracks for a few new songs.

Never a dull moment (and that's a good thing)

It wouldn't have a way to 'make/provision' an STX file.
If you open 2012 and search the BB folder for .stx, do any show up?
Or arrange the folder by Type of file so all the STX files show up together like below.

Well, it doesn't have the feature in the stylemaker to make an .stx file

I'll see if it reads them later today.

And I just reailzed I typo'd introduction laugh laugh in the subject

BTW, the new BiaB looks interesting.
